Strategies For Effective Cross-Cultural Communication Analysis
In this video source, Kristen Messerli, owner of cultural outreach, is interviewing Maria Lopez-Knowles a chief marketing officer for Entravision on cross-cultural communication strategies. Maria has worked for over 30 years in community marketing and research in the ever-growing Hispanic population Maria’s primary viewpoint is to focus on the duality between generations within the Hispanic culture in the U.S. She further explains this through breaking down the generations in language and context of their marketing and document contents. For example, in the 2nd generation we see bilingual capabilities build towards speaking complete English as they progress to the 3rd and 4th generations. She also focuses on the cultural nuance within each generation. Where their motivation stems from and what they focus on the most. Knowing this information, she can make effective connections with her targeted market.
I find this source credible based on Maria’s length of experience, knowledge and awarded study. Her serious and informal content was also factual and current to the times, which is well supported by logic and research. The sources tone was strong yet respectful and her delivery concise and proficiently delivered.
