Candidate Staton failed to properly plot the objective location, or calculate the proper azimuth. SNC delivered an incomplete five paragraph order, as he failed to mention the location of key personnel. During the evolution SNC maintained positive control of his squad. Once enemy contact was made, SNC was informed that the enemy had the bridge covered by fire and observation. SNC’s initial response was hesitation. After hesitation, SNC implemented a new plan to evacuate the casualties. SNC’s plan detracted from the tactical mindset, as he micromanaged his squad with the casualties as they were carried to a safe location.
