Boots recruit a Strategic HR partner as a consultant externally to help the HR department to gain momentum as being one of the best ways in making human resources as the most important asset in an organization. Strategic Partner is much more specialize in making strategic decisions and planning for accomplishing HR missions, for example, Strategic Partner will help Senior Product Executives to achieve their goals and show how they add value to the company. Strategic Partner will also take part in strategic planning process.
Strategic planning is the process by which top management determines overall organizational purposes and objectives and how they will be achieved. It is an ongoing process that is dynamic and ever changing. Strategic planning at all levels of the organization can be divided into four steps: (1) Determination of the organization mission – decide what is to be accomplished and determine principles tjat will guide the effort. (2) Assessment of the organization and its environment
– External determine external conditions, threats and opportunities - Internal determine competencies, strengths, and weaknesses within the organization (3) Setting of specific objectives or direction that are challenging, but attainable, measurable, time-specific and documented. (4) Determination of strategies to accomplish those objectives – specifying and documenting corporate-level strategies and planning.
After strategic plans have been formulated, strategic human resource planning can be undertaken. Human resources planning is the systematic process of matching the internal and external supply of people with job openings anticipated in the organization over a specified period of time; Human resource panning has two components: requirements and availability.
