Included within this is the security which it offers users, this piece of mind granted to users is brought about by another core-competency of eBay, which is cutting edge technology. This technology has granted ebay the opportunity to evolve its internationalization efforts over the past number of years. At the core of eBays business strategy is the sense of community among users whilst using the service. Users from all over the world (more then 150 countries) have to be able to converse and describe their products in their native language; otherwise the feeling of a global community will become nothing more then a regionalised and segregated market place.…

    1. The original model was not diversified thus the company would continue to lose value, market share and reduced profitability as a result of consumers shopping with the competition that has more items and competitive pricing strategies to offer. Presently eBay seeks new opportunities for growth expansion and business ventures in order to become the world's most multifaceted entity in the world of e-commerce. eBay would be unable to maintain a competitive advantage if they didn't come up with a plan to revolutionize the e-commerce infrastructure, therefore the proposed business model would appeal to a broader target audience by offering a variety that surpasses the auction framework. With the threat of having a plethora of competitive auctions, eBay is placed in a position of streamlining their strategic advantage, meaning the company's current business model is not enough to sustain the company's reputation as the successful international auctioneering powerhouse of e-commerce. Although eBay was the number one leader in online auction retail, there are several rivals that offer the same products for less currency which is always a contributing factor for online shoppers choosing a retail option. The current business model offers eBay a variety of options stemming from developing strategic alliances that would enable the company to have an oligopolistic approach to online retail. In addition to establishing relationships with other organizations and venturing into new markets, the company would possess an advantage of global growth expansion with a stronger positioning in the marketplace.…

The three different types of international orientations that MNC’s project are global, multi-domestic and domestic. When a company exhibits a global marketing orientation its marketing strategy is global, and its market coverage is the world. The firm or company develops a standardized marketing mix applicable across national boundaries. The product, promotion, price and place are standard and are not tailored toward any specific group of people or place where the marketing is done. The world as a whole is viewed as the market, and the firm develops an inclusive marketing strategy. Unlike a global orientation, a multi-domestic orientation tailors the marketing mix toward individual countries where the marketing is conducted. The product, promotion, price and place operate independently in one region to the next. On the other hand, a domestic orientation remains basically domestic. Minimal efforts are made to adapt the product, promotion, price or place to foreign markets. The primary intention is to market surplus domestic production; the approach is classified as ethnocentric which is the notion that one’s own company or culture knows best.…

Key strategic issues include the need to reach international markets, the need to create an environment that encourage large corporations to buy and sell, and the opportunity to explore possibilities for further vertical integration.
