Straight Outta Frida Film Analysis

Straight Outta Compton is considered to be one of most impactful and noteworthy films of 2015. Directed by F. Gary Gray, this superb biopic of the infamous rap group N.W.A. (N*ggaz Wit Attitudes), captures the lives of N.W.A, as well as their rise to rap supremacy. This film also displays many of the issues that occurred in the late 80’s, early 90’s era such as racial injustice, police brutality, and gang violence. Sad to say, many of the issues presented in the film are still very prevalent today. I feel that this is a remarkable biopic. This film should be viewed by fans of hip hop, old and young because the acting quality is remarkable, the music in the film was still outstanding and it attracts a much younger audience, the realism of this movie was incredible. The acting quality in Straight Outta Compton is extraordinary. Majority of the biopics in this day and age comes down to the acting quality of the cast and in this film, actors do a spectacular job. At the beginning of the film, Eric Wright (Eazy-E), portrayed by Jason Mitchell, is drug dealer who is in a house full of drug addicts and dealers. Typically in biopics, there is little to none realism included, but this film is a lot different from the others. In the film, they recreated N.W.A’s famous 1989 Detroit concert, and the group performed their smash hit “F*ck Tha Police”. The actors’ rawness and enthusiasm made me feel like I was actually a part of the concert and.
