Steven Stock Case Study
Steven Stock is the oldest out of three children from Quincy, Illinois. He and his two younger sisters were raised by Monte and Deb Stock. Steven is currently a graduating senior at Culver-Stockton College and is deeply involved in several organizations. Not only is he deeply involved, but he is the leader of most of the organizations he is affiliated with. He is the President of the Culver-Stockton College’s Student Government and Chi Alpha, a religious organization on campus. He is the past Vice President of HOPE, the past Vice President of External Relations of the Fraternity, Delta Upsilon. Along with being the past Vice President of Philanthropy of IFC. Among all of this, he is also a member of Women of Promise, Phi Eta Sigma, and Kappa Pi. Steven pursued leaderships in these organizations because he cared about the mission each embodied and he enjoys being a part of them. It is facilitating the group, taking responsibility for failures, and passing success on to the group.” I also asked Steven what his leadership style was and I gather him to be a Servant Leader. He discussed that being a successful leader was making sure that everyone he leads is able to do their job the best way they can. He believes the greatest thing about having a team is having everyone participate and coming together with multiple ideas and different ways to get things accomplished. Steven fathers that if someone is allowed to do something in their own unique way, they are typically more productive and genuinely excited about the process than if he would to micromanage and tell them how things needed to be done.
