Steve Jobs Biography
Steve Jobs was a distinguished industrial designer, American entrepreneur, inventor, and businessperson. He was born in San Francisco in the year 1960s. Due to his vast skills in managing businesses, he was the chief executive officer in Apple Inc., a member of the board in Walt Disney Company and a CEO in the Pixar Company, before he died. Additionally, he also founded a company known as NeXT that specialized in computers for businesses markets and institutions of high education. Steve was a student activist and abused drugs such as Marijuana while in school. As a result, he was jailed while undertaking his studies at the University of Beirut in America. He rescued Pixar Animation motion studios, and after mass marketing, he turned it to one of the most successful picture studios on the planet (Linzmayer, 2015) . Steve was involved in building NeXT. He was keen to study every minute details about computers and changed how the business world and higher institutions of learning conduct their operations. He first developed Mac and later turned to Apple. Steve had uncanny ability to foresee the future trends. He collaborated with Xerox PARC Company, which bought 5% of Apple Inc. Xerox engineers were able to develop a mouse and an improved graphical user interface, which made Apple computers outstanding in the world (Westley, Frances, and Mintzberg, 2012). In addition, Steve introduced Mac OS X in the year 1996 (Levy, 2014) . The OS increased computer security, stability and make them easier to use. Before his death, Apple Company had full-time employees, who totaled up to 46,500 individuals (Ghazawneh, Ahmad, and Henfridsson, 2013) .     Steve Jobs founded Apple as a computer company in 1976 and ran it alongside founders Steve Wozniak, Ronald Wayne and investor Mike Markkula. He was a strong minded visionary and often went against other workers ideas. Many rifts were created within apple because of the disagreements he had with other people about the way projects were being run within the company. Eventually, in 1985 Jobs left Apple after being removed as manager of the Mac project, something he had put together and built up. He acquired Lucasfilm’s animation department Pixar and funded this whilst working on his ‘NeXT’ computer project. He worked at NeXT for a number of years until, in 1995 Apple were convinced by Jobs to buy out his computer company. He then returned to Apple in an informal advisory role at a time when Apple was making the biggest losses since it was founded. In early 1997 after 500 days in the job and over $1 billion in losses the, then CEO was sacked. Jobs agreed to become interim CEO and to take on the responsibility of getting the company back onto the right path. His first move was to dramatically cut the number of products being produced by Apple and focused on a simple matrix structure.
