Stereotypes: The Mistreatment Of Animals
Humans have this idea of animals, that they are incompetent and useless. This being constantly showed to them (through creatures being used for meat, clothes and cosmetics, things that objects would be used for). It is rare that people defend them when someone talks badly of the animals. However, what if there was a way to get this thought out of their head entirely? The way to do it is simple: Add more of this healing power of creatures to humans’ lives. It is no secret that there is a sort of glow one gets after interactions with them. For example, puppies leave a person feeling soft and happy. This person feels a special connection with the dog. This is how one feels after interacting with a human. Humans did not realize that they had the capability to do so much more than those three things. However, animals cannot escape stereotypes, ending up living their lives as objects. The goal is to get them out of this label, and place them on a higher pedestal in the circle of life.
In the past, the mistreatment had been terrible, while nowadays, in the 21st century, it is evolving more and more and the awareness that humans have of this conflict is growing. These creatures are so intelligent and have many more capabilities than what humans recognize. There are many examples of doing wrong things to animals for the wrong reasons, and some are animal testing, involving torture methods that would be illegal if done to humans, and there is navy sonar and seismic testing, which is achieved through blowing up the ocean floor and causing ocean creatures to suffer. There’s circus abuse, which involves bull hooks and whipping, and of course the factory food system, where animals are confined in tiny spaced, being fed horrible chemicals just to be slaughtered. All of these methods of mistreatment are inhumane and ridiculous, and need to be fixed. The resolution of this conflict is achieved by showing humans more of the undeniable love and attention that animals give, by giving people more access to them through work, school, libraries, etc. They will see that animals have emotions and dreams, love and pain. It will let them, see that we are all really the same and that we should treat each other the
