“Ugh the heat is melting me like a popsicle on the Fourth of July!” I grumble. “Should we head down to the beach?” asks my mysterious table associate.”I’m sure the waves of the ocean will refresh us.” “Yes! Let’s go now!” I shout in enthusiasm. We slurp the shakes down in a matter of seconds and hustle to the beach. As we walk down the peer men, women and children began to encircle us. They squeal with glee at us and ask my mysterious friend for picture. “Please! Please! Please! May I have a picture?” Shouts a little boy in front of the sea of people. “Of course you may!” Shouts my friend laughingly.

The sand scorched our feet like steaks on a fiery grill. I had brought the Rock along to join me for a surfing lesson. We snatched our wetsuits and our boards and hit the waves. The ocean water sends a chilling sensation through my body. The polar water feels like a steamy shower after a long day, calming and relaxing. The waves are monstrous and intimidating, however, I seem to ride them effortlessly like I had done it a million times before. I dash past the Rock and under a curling wave. In the waves there are vividly colored fish swimming in schools. The water is so translucent that one can easily see the ocean floor, and the coral and seaweed that lay on
