Abdulla with his problem. I think that a good database is something that keeps all of the recorded data together in one place so that none of the information gets misplaced or lost, the problem with spreadsheets is that if lost it could cause for orders being placed by the teachers to be lost and the teachers will find themselves without the materials they need to conduct their class. I would also have to install a security system so that the information stored in the database can’t be accessed by just anyone, to avoid this problem I would be adding user system so that any teacher who accesses the database will have to log on to their user and access it from there as I think this will help us know if any data is deleted and can also keep track of which user/teacher has placed an order and what the teacher needs. Mr. Abdulla will also have to have a contact page where teachers can send him any special requests for the materials they order. I will also be adding a page that shows what the suppliers have in stock so that the teachers will know what they can order, it will also include a notifying system where as if a teacher needs a piece of equipment or any other material and it is out of stock, the system will automatically send a notification to the teacher telling him/her when the supplier receives the stock. The database will also alert Mr. Abdulla when a teacher places an order for something so that he knows what needs to be brought in, this system will also prevent any excess equipment being paid for as sometimes if there are more materials that have been sent and the school needs to pay more for things they didn’t order, Mr. Abdulla can prevent this as he would know what the order is and how much of it has been ordered. I also found the databases that I had researched helping me in this situation as they gave me ideas as to what I can add to improve my database even

A database is an integrated computer structure that stores end-user data and metadata (Coronel, Morris, & Rob, pg. 7). Data are the raw format of information, which when properly formatted can produce accurate, relevant, and timely information that is the key to making good decisions (Coronel, Morris, & Rob, pg. 5-6). The purpose of a database is to provide computer-based systems a way in which to store, manage, and retrieve data quickly (Coronel, Morris, & Rob, pg. 5). As for a local college database, the purpose of the database will be to house the data of enrolled students, the courses offered and times available, and the information of the faculty. The database will provide the data a student needs to insure they are taking the correct courses and provide the college and the faculty general student information, such as contact information.…

Tracking data about booth components, equipment, shippers, and shipments are extremely important part of my job. Understanding how to maintain all of this information will make sure that when a problem is realized that you can address it properly. The booth components need to be individually numbered so each part can be identified. Equipment needs to also have individual identifiers, as well as the serial number of all items recorded. This information will be important if a problem comes up in any step of the process. Including the price purchased will help track if the price has increased since last time the item was purchased. Dates purchased and dates received will also help follow the tracking of purchasing. Making sure a database is kept on who had the product and where it was shipped will keep track of the location of each product. Some of the equipment like projects or lights can be extremely valuable, and both of those should be watched closely. The relationship between screens and projectors need to be tracked closely. These two items are extremely important, because if one is missing the other will be useless. These should be tracked closely to ensure both can be utilized. The relationship between lights and power sources are to be tracked closed as well. A light will need a power source so that it can be used. A database system should be most certainly used to keep organization easier. Excel can be used to handle the data and output, but many of the database products allow for scanning of barcodes to promptly input data. Instead of taking down information and manually input it with…

Overall a relational database is widely used in schools, organisations, companies, theme parks and the list never stops. I would recommend this type of database for anyone who has a lot of people attending or working at a place. This will stop duplicates. A flat file is not recommended as it takes a long time to enter the data and duplicates are most likely going to occur, which will lead to confusion and you will be unable to know who is who in the duplicate.…
