Chapter 1
INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study The St. Nicholas Academy: Center of Catholic Education, Incorporation. has been in existing for many years. It is the only Catholic academic institution in the town of macabebe and is supervised by the Archbishop of the City of San Fernando, Pampanga. Rev. Fr. Genaro Sazon founded the parochial school in 1947 and named it Auxilium Christianorum. The RVM sisters were tasked to supervise the school. It was temporarily closed from 1954 it 1974. In 1975, the school was repened by Sor. Maria Encarnacion T. Rodriguez of the handmaids of our Lady of the sacred heart (HOLSH) with a new name- Our lady of Fatima Catholic School. The school offered complete pre-elementary and elementary course and classes were housed in the school buildings beside the parish church. In 1995, the archdiocese of San Fernando effected a reshuffle in the pastoral assignments of the school administration took place. A young energetic priest and an equally-experienced school administrator in the person of Rev. Fr. Jose E. David was assigned in the parish on June 29, 1995. Under his administration, Fr. David pursued the mission-vision to provide quality Catholic education. As part of the expansion program, the school started to offer courses in the secondary level effective school year 1996-1997. With this welcome development, the name of the school as changed to Saint Nichols Academy. Finally, on April 12, 1999, Government Recognition No. S-004, S, 1999 for the complete four-year Secondary Course was granted to the school. Presently, the school is located within the parish church lot of Macabebe, Pampanga. The parish church is in front of the town’s municipal hall.

Statement of the Problems
Time consuming process of payroll preparation
The St. Nichols Academy still using the manual method of payroll process. A lot of jobs are assigned to the payroll maker and accounting clerk, with cause’s inconvenience to their services.
