Statement of Purpose: Master of Science in Electrical Engineering
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE FOR MS IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
Life has always been a smooth flowing brook with small dashes here and there. It has certainly reached a critical juncture when I have to desire where to turn and what to do next and my idea of life can be best quoted by this very famous quotation:
“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” -- Albert Einstein
I am interested in pursuing a Masters Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Portland State University with VLSI Design as my Area of Interest. My interest lies specifically in the field of Electrical Engineering. My undergraduate engineering degree in Electronics and Communication and also convinced me that a Masters Degree is an essential first step in my quest to master this field. My career objective is to become a VLSI Designer actively to research in Electronics Engineering, from an academic environment. Hence I intend to follow up my Masters degree with a PhD.
I would like to introduce myself as Talla Teja Goud. I’m pursuing my bachelor of Engineering in Electronics & Communication Department from NISHITHA COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY, which is affiliated to an esteemed institution JAWAHARLAL NEHRU TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY- HYDERABAD (JNTU-H). I always had the ambition of pursuing the MS program right from my childhood days. As an Electronics Engineer, I look for graduate study to refine my knowledge and skills in my areas of interest. I believe it will also serve to give direction to my goal of a career as research oriented organization.
Ever since I was a child my first tryst with electronics was the Broadband Internet. I was fascinated and questioned myself how does it work. How it transmits the signals and what components make up a Personal computer to receive a signal from Broadband Exchanges. From those

For me Dan Lewis's view of "life being a smorgasbord" does apply. Life's is like a food buffet with many experiences, some you may like and some you may not but that's okay because you will try them all anyway. When you look at your life you should think of where you are now, where your going and your accomplishments. An example of my life beiong a smorgasbord is when my 7-year-old twin brothers were born. They had been through multiple heart surgeries, many months in Dayton Childrens and still to this day are fully functioning. They were born with chagre syndrom. You go to bed on eday thinking everything is okay, your life is on track and it'll all be thge same tommorrow, the next day and the day after that, but then you wake up and youre…

As humans we are all given the chance to embark on a wonderful journey through life. Some choose to focus on the final goal and choose to dedicate their lives for the end destination. The poem "Ithaca" by C.P. Cavafy suggests that one should not focus ones entire life on the end goal but instead enjoy the journey, and take as much as one possibly can from it. The author uses Ithaca as a metaphor for life in the poem. It can be understood from this poem that Ithaca represents the journey of life; the beginning, the end and everything in between.…

Hattie Owen, the main character in ‘A Corner of the Universe’, expressed this profound outlook on life which relates to people all over the world at any stage in their life. This idea tells us that we shouldn’t just have an uneventful, “safe” and dull life; instead, we should investigate and probe around with all the possibilities that life could bring us; life will be a lot more fascinating this way. This can encourage people everywhere to not just spend 80 or so years living in monotonous routine, but to accept the opportunities that are given to you. The main reason that people don’t do this is because they are worried that it will end in disappointment or that they will make a mistake. It’s alright to make errors, because you can learn from them. It is better to have lived and learned than to not have lived at all. What if you were given the choice of having a huge promotion to the top job in your company or staying at the bottom of the food chain? What would you choose? Say you did choose the promotion, what if you messed up and fell all the way to the bottom again in embarrassment? That doesn’t matter! Life isn’t life without a little risk. This is what Hattie Owen meant in her deep and meaningful…

Throughout life people take many paths and journeys. Whether those paths are the right ones or wrong ones, the path taken describes oneself as a human being and it explains the past and leads to the future. Some take the path often traveled, but the path less traveled leads to open opportunities and a chance to explore and discover new things. In our own lives, we strive to always pick the best option that best suit us, to enhance our lives and gain knowledge as we trek through the journey we call life. Life is like a door, but one must open the door and the step must be taken to explore one’s chosen destiny.…

Life is the ultimate test of endurance, from fighting discrimination, to overcoming disability, to surviving tremendous odds, and to proving the world wrong, it is a struggle from the first step, to the our final departure. If there's one thing I've learned throughout the literature that I've read, it's that life is never a solid, paved road, but rather a bustling, and unpredictable freeway filled with crater sized potholes. Nevertheless, it's a road worth taking that's full of rewards and adventure no matter which lane you turn.…

Life is one of those words that can be shaped however one may please and turned into an idea suited for themselves. For example, “Life is like photography. You need the negatives to develop” (Brown). There are many metaphors used to describe life depending on whether it is an optimistic or pessimistic view. Two comparisons some may make about life are having to do with having their life course mapped out and then, to its polar opposite, going through each day without a clue. For instance, when one says “life is the clouds” they are referring to having life figured out and then thinking of it as “life is wearing a blindfold” has a different take on it expressing not knowing which choice to make next because you do not know where you are going. There are those who seem to be born with great intellect and direction knowing each and every step they are going to make and also those that have trouble figuring out the simple tasks. For people who may sometimes find themselves feeling they are stuck in a rut in life they should remember that life can be seen as steady planned out routines but can then also be viewed blindly with every step depending on how they choose to view it themselves.…

My life, for me, started one day my freshman year. That day, I told myself I wasn’t gonna live this sad life anymore. I decided that I had to get out. Out of highschool, out of this town, out of this life. It was the first thing I had ever truly done for myself. I remember when it hit me, that first moment of impact. I was sitting in my second period english class, my favorite. We were all reading, and I looked around at everyone in the room and was overcome by a sense of dissatisfaction. I couldn’t help but ask myself, “Is this all there is?” I sat there wondering if all I would ever have in life would be myself, trapped in a system that absorbs any good I could possibly have. Would I live the rest of my life, paying off student loans for a job I hate, voting for a president with no real power ,and giving money to a government that is suffering, or would I change my path?…

Life is a scary and thrilling rollercoaster full of ups and downs, twists, and turns, and tears and fears. Some things can make you scream with joy and pride while other things torrent upon your heart to tear you apart. Life is one of the things many people take for granted instead of living it like there is no tomorrow. Every day, every hour, every minute, and down to every second is precious; because once time rolls on, the moment is gone forever. It will only be a part of history you cannot change. While most opportunities are there every day, there are some that only come once in a lifetime.…

A person’s journey through life should not and will not be like driving down a smooth road; simple, consistent and predictable. There are always potholes, bumps along the way; obstacles we must overcome or avoid in order to keep moving forward.
