The biggest hardship I have faved that aI will never forget, is when I first started going to school. I am the oldest of my family and my parents only talk in spanish. That was my first language when I first went to school. It was very hard for me to understand what people were saying because I knew nothing in english. I had to figure out by myself what my teacher were saying. I practiced English only at school never at home. It took me a while to learn english because I was not really good at a this huge transition in my life. I always had to take an extra english class or speech class. Which caused me to miss other classes with the rest of my classmates. Now I know english and will say it is my first language. This hardship was tough for me but with willingness I was pushed myself to overcome it.

An experience that makes me proud during my first year of school was failing. It was a wake-up call, a realization that I could overcome a difficult obstacle due to the mistakes I had made. Therefore, I dedicated all my time to make-up all the classes I received low grades in. I pushed myself to persevere and not become a high school drop-out; I refused to be labeled a failure. I worked twice as hard in the classes I had received low grades; so when I was taking them again I would pass with a better grade I would be satisfied with. I managed my time efficiently to give myself enough time for each class and receive help when I asked certain teachers who offered tutoring. I took advantage of all extra credit assignments when offered, I believed…

My teacher had to give hand signals to explain things to me, like how to go to lunch, to read books, as well as other…
