My decision to apply for MIS course at your university is driven by my aspiration to work in a challenging domain, where I can put my technical and analytical skills to the best use for the benefit of my company. With computer and the processing of information becoming ubiquitous, this field finds a critical place in decision making in organizations. I have a firm belief that this emerging dynamic and challenging management knowledge field will enable me to utilize my skills to innovate and make valuable contributions to the field.

Since childhood, I have been fascinated with the idea of being precise with numbers. Playing with numbers and data enthralled me, enabling me to excel in academics. In class 12th, I scored an aggregate of 96.4%. Since my father is a scientific officer at a Heavy Water Plant in Manuguru, I was exposed to the technological world very early in life. My schooling at the prestigious Atomic Energy Central School also provided me enough impetus and exposure to explore this world and the world of computers. After junior college, I gave both the State Board Engineering entrance examinations as well as the All India Engineering Exam, where again I excelled, scoring the 86th and 2104 rank respectively. This helped me choose and pursue the field of my interest i.e. Electronics and Communications from the prestigious National Institute Of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal University.

As a student of Electronics and Communication Engineering, subjects like Telecommunication switching and systems, Signal and Systems, Marketing Management, Probability theory and applications caught my interest. I scored an average of 8.5 in all of them and most notably a full 10 in marketing management. The subjects felt tailor made for me. It also provided me the opportunity to select many electives like Computer networks, Data structures and algorithms, Management theory and practice in the field of computers and management; another

Commerce , as a field, had always fascinated me right from my school days. I believe my penchant for this field stems from the fact that Finance runs in world and every sector requires proper finance system. My Uncle is a chartered accountant. During my school days, I used to go to my Uncles's office and help him manage his portfolio of equities and other financial instruments. This was the time I learnt the first lesson of finance from my Uncle i.e. risk and return are proportionate. In 2006 when I was in the twelth class the Indian stock market crashed. But fortunately, my Uncle had a well-diversified portfolio because of which his returns were protected from the downside risk. This was when I learnt the second principle of finance from my Uncle i.e. diversification reduces risk. While I understood these two principles intuitively, it produced in me a strong urge to learn and understand the complex theory behind the working of Finance. This, I believe, was a turning point in my career. I made up my mind to pursue a career in Finance and hence decided to do my bachelor degree in commerce (Accounting).…
