STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

As a Bcom graduate from McGill University and a passionate marketing professional with excellent qualifications and a strong desire to excel, I would like to apply to John Molson School of Business’ MBA program.

Accepting challenges is the foundation of my life experiences and something I do with confidence. You will find me a totally committed individual with pride in being autonomous, spontaneous and communicative. From past experiences and education, I have gained extensive experience with the needs of a diverse clientele and can communicate in English, French and Greek fluently. Strong leadership and teamwork are important skills I have acquired, which are essential for organizational cohesiveness. While working at Pratt & Whitney Canada as an intern in the Service Center, I coordinated and lead a data management team in Bangalore, India where I learned to establish daily operational bases for a variety of projects and provided the direction to ensure progress and deadlines were met. In addition, my excellent listening and practical problem solving skills, which I learned while working as an account coordinator and an account manager at Aimia, have allowed me to understand the importance of developing a strong rapport with clients by working together and helping each other meet and exceed our objectives. My outstanding accomplishments while managing marketing initiatives for leading financial institutions in Canada was demonstrated when winning Aimia’s annual Best of the Best award for my 2011 performance - only 5 employees from a total of 250 in the organization won this distinction.

My passion and interest in marketing is apparent in various facets of my life. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I was a member of a number of different associations where I had the opportunity to volunteer and engage in interesting projects requiring big picture thinking, creative solutions and ideas. Some of these

I wasn’t terribly sure what I wanted to do with my life, nor did I have any idea how to get where I thought I wanted to be. My relative lack of passion wasn’t seen as a deterrent in my affluent Texas town, though, as it was a place where nearly all high school students went on to college—it was the only option we really considered or that was presented to us by our families, teachers, and counselors as a post-graduation plan. So I began the requisite search by looking first at nontraditional college environments, for while I had done reasonably well at my large and impersonal public high school, nor had I flourished either. It seemed to me that if I was going to spend the next four years of my life in school, I might as well try a different tactic than the one that had allowed me to coast rather unremarkably through high school.…

My pursuit of physical therapy as a profession comes from my interest in healing the human body. Originally inspired by my grandfather, it has been my profession of choice for as long as i can remember; From a young child observing my grandfather unable to be mobile without the use of a cane, to my teenage years when I learned about the dynamics of the human body, to even more recently, after the excision of an osteochondroma on my femur during my time spent in the care of a physical therapist. <---RUN ON SENTENCE, ADJUST IT These humbling experiences have helped solidify my passion for physical therapy.…

My personal and professional Goals in marketing are real appealing to me as it is arguably the most important department of any business. I understand the importance of marketing for all companies, whether it be small, medium or a blue chip company. I believe it would challenge my more creative side as well as testing my theoretical skills. I'm particularly interested in the more creative advertising side of marketing and the physiology behind it. My father owns his own Yacht customizing business, and my brother is in marketing business so I appreciate how advertising campaigns can work and understand how these contribute to the marketing campaign. My mother is also part owner of the family business, so I have experienced business throughout my life and I believe this has contributed to my passion towards this subject of Marketing Communications. Having worked for my brother in sales , I'm especially familiar with the retail industry, although I've also worked for America Online in the sales department, I believe these jobs have helped increase my confidence and improve my communication skills.…

The role of a teacher goes far beyond being an individual who specializes in a specific academic area. In fact, a teachers possesses many attributes that illuminate any classroom or school. Firstly, they are trained to raise new generation of leaders. Secondly, teachers can be a support system for pupils and fellow teachers peers alike. Thirdly, they serve as disciplinarians in an effort to build a student's character (? I DON”T UNDERSTAND THIS PHRASEor their own?). And lastly, they purport themselves as professionals through their attire and their interaction with all concerned (i.e.: administration, distinguished faculty, parents and the student body). During my elementary school years, most of my teachers were either female, Caucasian, or both. A young, strong, urban male of Caribbean descent governing a class of 25 to 30 pupils wasn't commonplace. A perfect and rare example was my choreographer, the belated late Radcliffe Johnson. At age 12, I was actively involved in my youth dance ministry and was recommended by his mother and fellow parishioner, Beryl Smith. He instilled in me discipline, leadership, and a passion for both the arts and teaching which has resulted in a career catering to youths in many different facets, particularly in academics. My goal is to use my graduate studies and work experience to be that young, strong, male figure that Radcliffe was.…

As a young child, I was attracted to sci-fi films because of exploration of the planets. Anyone, who has ever seen the television series “Star Wars,” will never forget the imposing space ships connecting planets, robot troops; dangerous battles in the space, and of course, two human-like robots. In the television series “Star Trek,” I really took part in adventures of the Enterprise spaceship to mysterious planets at the speed of light. These films gave me a question: “Can we create a machine having intelligence as human?” The question is still haunting me, and becoming an computer engineering…
