Statement of objective
Goal:
Seek to grow in the field of accounting by gaining knowledge of the ongoing changes in the accounting environment. The master’s course in accounting shall further help me reach my goal to become a CPA.
Statement of objective:
After more than 6 year's full time work experience in the field of accounting with various reputed firms like XYZ, ABC, PQR and a little over 2 years of volunteering experience with a CPA firm in accounting, I want to return to academic study and undertake graduate studies in masters of accountancy to broaden my scope in this field.

After graduating with a first class degree in Masters of Accounting from University of XX, I felt I should gain some practical experience working in an accounting environment to gain first-hand knowledge. I have loved every minute of my work: especially the opportunity to participate in projects involving fund accounting for new product and discuss solutions with the verticals across the department in different parts of the world. I soon realized that, although I enjoy handling the complex projects involving new products, I am not going to be satisfied with carrying out routine procedures under the direction of others. I want to be part of the team that directs the course of the project. My senior colleagues have encouraged my ambition and feel that I have the potential for continuing my graduate studies.

My love for accounting started during high school. My dad who was an accountant inspired me and it was he who helped me develop further interests in it. While I would struggle with my accounting assignments, he would help me solve the same with his practical accounting knowledge. He also encouraged me to go through the accounts in the annual reports of the companies for which he was a shareholder of. That is how I went ahead in this field to do a bachelor and later masters in accounting.

At undergraduate level, my interests became more focused. Although management accounting and cost accounting

Commerce , as a field, had always fascinated me right from my school days. I believe my penchant for this field stems from the fact that Finance runs in world and every sector requires proper finance system. My Uncle is a chartered accountant. During my school days, I used to go to my Uncles's office and help him manage his portfolio of equities and other financial instruments. This was the time I learnt the first lesson of finance from my Uncle i.e. risk and return are proportionate. In 2006 when I was in the twelth class the Indian stock market crashed. But fortunately, my Uncle had a well-diversified portfolio because of which his returns were protected from the downside risk. This was when I learnt the second principle of finance from my Uncle i.e. diversification reduces risk. While I understood these two principles intuitively, it produced in me a strong urge to learn and understand the complex theory behind the working of Finance. This, I believe, was a turning point in my career. I made up my mind to pursue a career in Finance and hence decided to do my bachelor degree in commerce (Accounting).…

In recent years, my native country of India has adapted to the trend of globalization and transformed from a low-tech manufacturing base into a technology-based economy. Growing up in such a dynamic and quickly developing economy has given me a strong interest in taking part in the business world of the future. With this longstanding interest in Accounting and Business, I am very eager to begin engaging in advanced business studies. Business and Finance has been a great inspiration for me right from my childhood ever since I used to be at the cash counter of my dad’s departmental store. My introduction to Chartered Accountancy Program was my first greatest inspiration. I majored in Bachelor of Commerce at University of Madras in [India], a University with a reputation for excellence in terms of its business programs. Although the rigorous academic environment presented certain challenges, I achieved a great deal and built a strong foundation of knowledge and experience. The core subjects in my bachelors were Accounting, Business, Commerce, Law, Taxation and Management Studies. I have also completed the Common Proficiency Test from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. I believe that Australia is the ideal setting for refining my expertise in Accounting and Management while also acquiring a broader, international viewpoint in Accounting. I am currently applying to the “Masters of Professional Accounting”; so that I can learn and lay a foundation to live up to my dream of becoming a full-fledged Chartered Accountant or working as a financial analyst in a reputed Accounting Firm.…
