State Of The Nation Address
State of the Nation Address
Reaction Paper The President Benigno Aquino III successfully delivered his fifth State of the Nation Address on Monday, July 28, 2014 at the Batasang Pambansa even there were so many militant’s outside. During his speech I became more open-minded about his administration and on what problem they are really focusing on and feel pity for those militant’s because some of the problems they are pointing to President Aquino must be point first to their designated local government. And as one of the people of this community we must also understand that those projects and progress takes time.He tackled the very important topic of Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) and defended his stance, showing all the projects where the funds and savings of the DAP was directed to. He said that this DAP fund was able to help TESDA scholars. He also shared about the Philippines as one of the leading countries in Asia, for its growth in GDP, GNP. Also, the employment rate had increased and that this reflects how the government handled the labor policies. He also narrated how the government endured the corruption and hardships before his terms started. The President then expressed his sentiments how the national government transformed. According to the President, the Infrastructure projects have doubled even without doubling to raise taxes. President Aquino noted that there is P28 billion savings at the Department of Public Works and Highways because of the corruption in the agency have been cut. The President also boasted that from the start of his term, a total of 2,184 kilometers of national roads were completed. President Aquino admits the delay of the new power plants, but he noted that it needs to be addressed soon so power and energy resources can be managed well for future shortage. The Philippines is also looking forward for its plans to import more rice to bring down the rice prices in the domestic market. And for

The first and second inaugural addresses compare and contrast in many ways to show the different views of national identity that Abraham Lincoln shows throughout the speeches. They compare because of issues to end the war or defuse the possibility of war. They contrast in many ways also, in the first address Lincoln believes that the issue of a war will pass over the country and not be much of an issue. He also gives chances to the people that have started this conversation to end what they started. Whereas in the second inaugural address lincoln takes a more religious approach. Lastly, the issue of slavery is very different during the two inaugural addresses.…

A good leader is someone who constantly is honest with the people who he or she is surrounded by. A leader who is educated is able to evaluate other people's skills to have the ability to achieve their ideal goals. As many of us know, Barack Obama was the first African American United States President in the United States' history. I remember it was 2010 when Obama established a healthcare system called Obamacare. Obama is considered a good leader by continuously being plausible and an attentive person for almost eight years. Not only is he an attentive worker, but Barack also does other things to help our nation, such as visiting other countries around the globe. Obama uses humor in his speeches…

    President Obama Speech

I have to agree with President Obama on one issue, poisonous gas should not, must not ever be used against any living thing; however I do not think that the United States should bear the full cost of any action taken against Syria. President Obama's passionate appeal to retaliate against the Syrian regime for the death of hundreds of children appears hollow when we consider what the US did in Iraq under the same pretext of weapons of mass destruction. The US bombing and the consequential war killed thousands of Citizens of Iraq including children and the consequences are felt even today by the whole world. The US should understand the internal conflicts of the Islamic World where fratricide is a normal way between the Shia Sunni war from the 7th century. As long as the Islamic world is not willing to reject even a single word of the Koran these type of conflicts are bound to continue and it would be better for the rest of the world to permit the Islamists to settle their disputes amongst themselves rather than interfere and bring the dangers to the shores of other countries in the world. Russia and China with their large Islamic minorities know clearly how to get out of theses conflicts and it is high time the US and its Western allies learnt these lessons. Assad's offer to ban chemical weapons should be pursued instead of the US jumping into Middle East conflagration and burnt for decades for no fault of US citizens but the aspirations of becoming the world's police chief by their US presidents whether it is Bush or Obama!…

PLATFORM OF JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA Vision: A democracy that is truly pro-poor. A country with peace and order. A government of transparency and accountability. Economic Agenda REVIVING THE ECONOMY Steady economic growth that is felt by the masses. GNP growth is meaningless if poverty and hunger levels and other measures of quality of life remain poor. An Estrada Administration will increase growth while also increasing the country's human development index. This will be achieved by strengthening the country's domestic economy, specifically in the field of agriculture, instead of relying on overseas remittances to increase GNP; and by ensuring that the bulk of the budget goes to services that trickle down to the poor, such as social services and education, instead of to debt servicing or overpriced infrastructure projects. National Security Agenda PEACE AND ORDER Ending criminal, insurgent and secessionist movements President Joseph Estrada's primary goal is to achieve peace and order nationwide, especially in Mindanao, because he believes that peace and order is a prerequisite to economic development. His top priority is to bring down crime rates in Metro Manila, especially drug-related activities; end insurgency in the Visayas and other provinces infested with rebels; and end the secessionist movement in Mindanao. Aside from the obvious benefits of peace, ending the secessionist movement is a top priority because the country must send out the signal to the international community that we are nation that can keep its own laws in its own land, with the underlying objective of removing travel bans or advisories against the Philippines in order to entice investors and tourists to come. Negotiations will still be the priority means to achieve this objective . However, should the MILF continue to renege on peace agreements and sow terror against Filipinos in Mindanao, war may be considered as a last resort or final means to attaining lasting peace. Social Agenda FOOD…

This SONA is the president’s fifth, the second to the last, and filipinos are expecting him to discuss more about what is happening now – impeachment complaints because of DAP, territorial disputes, pork barrel scam, energy problems and more. It is all very superficial. Despite the improvements, there are matters deep in the crevices of the system greatly affecting the country that have been left unmentioned. There are many comparisons between his administration and the old, and most of all, there is lot of spite expressed from his attackers. We appreciate the positivity and the improvements but sheer avoidance of more pressing matters is not a development in any form.…
