Missouri might not sound interesting but is actually pretty cool. For example did you know the first people to taste hot dogs and ice cream were visitors at the saint louis world’s fair in 1904, the famous president ,truman, was born in missouri and,missouri was named after the tribe of missouri indians meaning town of the large canoes. that pretty interesting right, well if you want to keep finding out cool things about missouri then keep reading this essay. Well maybe you are wondering where Missouri is and it is in the midwest state in the south central united states. if you dont know what that means , it is above arkansas and next to kansas. i bet you are also wondering how big missouri, well it is 69,709 square miles. wow it looks small but it is big. it also has the population of 5,323,523 people. the capital is jefferson city. imagine all the types of cultures and ethnicities there must be in Missouri. well it is pretty diverse, 10 percent of the population is african american and 88 percent is white. the other percent is filled with 20,000 native americans, 60,000 hispanic american and 40,000 asian americans. its pretty funny if you think about how the first settlers were french but now all types of people live here. Now that you know what ethnicities live here you should know what most of the religions they believe in. most Missourians ,which are residents of missouri, are protestants who belong to the baptist or methodist church. one third of the population is roman catholics. The most important jobs in missouri are Agriculture, Mining, and forestry business.however the largest part is tourism and trade. also stuff like bounty hunters ,private investigators and detectives are good jobs to have.
