He mentions that Tesfaye already has five top-selling songs on Billboard this week, one of the most esteemed countdowns in North America. He also names some of the influential and powerful people in the music industry who also attended the concert such as Kardinal Offishall, Bell Media production president Randy Lennox and Universal Music Canada CEO Jeffery Remedios. This communicates that the Weeknd is very prominent in the music industry and he is attracting the attention of big names who see a great deal of potential in him. Above all, he mentions Tesfaye’s world tour which signifies that, not only is he popular in North America, but he is admired worldwide and enough fan around the world to fill stadiums and play shows. Another effective rhetorical device employed is diction. The author’s vocabulary is very informal and almost conversational in nature making the targeted age group more interested in reading this review. However their biggest concert is coming up on December 13th, called Crazy For Christmas. It’s not a Christmas concert really, but it’s more of a holiday concert, although they don’t play any Christmas music, it’s all mostly their new songs and some of their old songs. The concert is being held at Regency Ballroom in San Francisco. The concert isn’t by seats it’s a first come first serve sort of thing. Regular tickets add up to about 36 dollars. However they also had VIP tickets, and only 5 platinum tickets. The VIP was also very limited because they were sold out in the first 10 minutes. There are still regular tickets available but they are almost sold out. Kalin, Myles and Jake also have another close friend Tyler Garcia, or Ty. He is the one who shoots them and all of their music videos and is really close with them. Everyone…

The quintet consisted of Adam Heller, Kendall Fowler, Chandler Boyd, Dan Sitler, and Tim Henderson. They started off with Blue Train by the great John Coltrane. It had a steady tempo and a smooth sound. The trumpet played by Adam Heller stood out during this tune. It was a great piece that the audience enjoyed thoroughly. The next tune played by this quintet is So Dance Samba by A. C. Jobim. The piano played by Chandler Boyd starts the tune out beautifully. The drums played by Tim Henderson keep the fast beat and tempo. The sax played by Kendell Fowler played wonderfully along with the trumpet played by Adam Heller. Both of these talented musicians stood out. The trumpet took the lead for most of this piece, but the bass played by Dan Sitler and the piano still stood out at portions. This piece ended on a loud note. Their next tune is Grass Fed that was impressively created by their director Scott Routenberg in one day. This tune had a fast tempo and a happy feel. The trumpet played by Adam Heller and the sax played by Kendell Fowler stood out during most of this piece. It was a very impressive and appealing piece. I enjoyed each piece of this quintet’s…

Monique attended the Swing class at Ambient Studio on March 14, 2009 to heard and dance to the rhythms and sounds of the Etowah Jazz Society. The concert was from 9pm to 12 am in the morning. There look is like a big band but they have a swing feel to them. The bands whole persona is that of a big band that you would see on a dance television show back in the older days. There sound was very mellow and not loud at all. After Monique talked to a couple of the members in the band I found out that there influences on music where commonly set around the swing era, big band jazz, and Natalie Cole. The band is comprised of 18 members who all have different skill levels. When watching the band it looked as though the brass section was more skilled…
