The battle of Orleans was in a series of of decisive battles for the French. Joan could enter the city on the eastern side unopposed because a French sortie had the English distracted on the western side of the city. This allowed her to bring crucial supplies the the French soldiers that had already been sieging the city for a while. Joan led a passionate resistance, and continued to lead the French on to battles.
