Spirit FM Vs Joy FM
The Spirit FM and the Joy FM are both non-profit, Christian Contemporary radio stations that are broadcasted from the Tampa Bay area. They play everything from the latest hits to the classics, and they can make the long drive home after a hard day’s work something to look forward to. Both stations have the same common goal, to provide great music for the listener, so he or she can have a reliable source of praise and worship. They’re practically identical, so why listen to one over the other? The distinctness of the DJs is the deciding factor; one station’s hosts are much more personal than the other. In the right corner, with the Spirit FM are Abby, Davis, Bill, and Rob; in the left corner, with the Joy FM are Jayar, Dave, Bill, and Carmen. …show more content…
Most people do not enjoy work, so by the time they get in the car, they’re exhausted, grouchy, and can’t take one more ounce of Debbie-downer news. The current events covered are mostly sad stories that don’t directly affect the lives of the listener. The hosts will announce topics such as “the poor and hungry population has gone up two percent in Indonesia” (Awkwardly cuts to music). Hmm, Okay? Granted, these are issues that need attention, but this radio station has just mentioned the issue, that’s it; nothing was said on how to fix these matters. If they won’t provide any possible solutions, why bring up the problem in the first place? Contrary to the Spirit FM, the DJs from the Joy FM talk about any personal struggles that they come across in their daily lives, which they think might relate to the majority of their listeners. The hosts on 91.5 will mention a situation and make an open discussion by opening the phone lines to the listeners. Once they get a caller, the DJs will talk about the situation and how they reacted after considering the circumstances; once they finish, the caller would talk about a similar instance and how he or she handled it. Towards the end of the discussion, they compare to compose the best possible way to handle the predicament once it comes up again. Listening in on a conversation about relevant events in our lives makes a substantial

CFRB is Toronto’s oldest and longest running radio station. It was founded by Roger’s communication giant Ted Roger’s in the year 1927, and is still going strong to this date. This past Sunday I went to Snyder Moral Baptist church to hear the music of Joel Raney. Joel is a very emotional performer I could tell he is very in touch with God. While I was there I learned that he began his career in Alabama by cutting his teeth on hymns and gospel music. He attended Juilliard School in NYC where he also worked in musical theater for a time. Listening to Joel’s music made me feel closer to God, he made me think about the finer things in life through his music. Like having a close relationship with God and letting God know I am what he has made me to be. He made me think about my faith a lot more about how being a Christian isn’t all about showing up at church. Being a Christian is…

The program itself covers a variety of topics including local and world news, interviews, public interest stories, as well as pop culture news. Many news programs seem to have lost the interest of viewers as many find the provided content boring or irrelevant to their lives as earlier stated. Good Morning America has figured out a way to combat this issue and draw in audiences by only offering news updates at the top and bottom of the hour. The remaining in-between time is filled with public interest stories, and interviews that the public finds interesting and relevant. “According to an article published in The Hollywood Reporter, as of 2012 Good Morning America has been the most watched morning news show” (O’Connel, 2015). But the question we must ask is if the news is a construction of stories rather than reality, how informed are the viewers who watch GMA and claim they are informed because they watch the…

Hate radio is mainly about how corrupt the radio is and the effects it has on listeners. Many of these radio shows are criticizing, looking down on, and even making fun of minority races, minority religions, and even females in general. This gives the public reason to hate these minorities. It angers me that such a large number of people in our country can be influenced by radio. I think it should even be outlawed if they are making discriminatory comments about other races. I understand the first amendment and that there’s supposed to be freedom of speech in our country. I agree that the people speaking on the radio should be allowed to say what they are saying, but not to the entire public. When someone can…

For my second live concert review I decided to attend a live event that was being held at Miami Dade College Kendall Campus on Thursday October the 25th. It was to be performed by students who are in an active jazz group at the school. The jazz ensemble consisted of three consistent musicians with a different vocal artist for each song. The director of the recital was Dr. Timothy Brent who was also the pianist for the evening. On the bass was a man by the name of the Dale Posey. The final member of the group was Rodolfo Zuniga…
