The flow of air around an object causes the unavoidable effect of drag and is influenced by the size, shape, surface, and overall speed of an object (John Polson, 2013). Air resistance is present in snow skiers and can inhibit their performance in a race greatly if the proper precautions and positions are not met. It was freezing cold, and my face hurt for the next 5 minutes, but it wasn’t too bad. I found that after you ski for a while, you get bruises on your calves from pressing against the rim of the ski boot. Ski boots are not like normal boots. They are two pieces of heavy plastic joined together with one joint at the ankle and lined with padding. As you can probably imagine, this gives you about the same amount of flexibility as if you stuck your foot in concrete. Skateboarding was the first board sport to come into my life and I must give it the most credit for molding me into the boy I am today. It is not the board or the tricks, but the whole attitude that comes with it: The adrenaline pumping through your body as you outrun some overweight police officers and the excitement of learning something new every day. I was not able to practice it in my country because we do not have a winter season. Even though I hate to say this, I think snowboarding is more fun than skateboarding.…
