Spanking a child is wrong. In Canada, hitting a child has been illegal. It should be illegal for parents, teachers or anyone to spank a child everywhere. Spanking forces children or anyone to have a low self-esteem. It also breaks the bond between a child and its parent. Spanking influences children to be hitters them self. Firstly spanking a child can break the bond between you and your child depending on how hard you spank them and how harsh they take it. Sometimes parent spank them so often that their children think that there parent don’t like them anymore. Spanking can sometimes be very harsh since it can leave some wounds behind. Children that take spanking as an everyday thing become very serious and aggressive. Secondly, hitting children also encourages them to be hitters themselves! Studies have shown most dangerous criminals were regularly punished and spanked in childhood. Spanking influences children to hit their children later on. Lastly spanking a child makes them feel that they are not wanted and their parents don’t have feelings for them. In other words spanking lowers their self-esteem. Spanking has long terms side effects, such as suicide. There are Better ways to discipline children like give them a time out or get them grounded or, you can take something away from them. Spanking them is not the ANSWER! In, summary spanking is not the right thing, therefore; there should be major consequences for spanking. Spanking should be banned from everywhere not only 29 countries. That’s because groups of innocent kids have nothing to do except be spanked by their parents.
