Title

Researcher:
MA. LUZ S. PARONG

Instructor:
MS. GRACE P. NADON

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Southern Mindanao Institute of Technology one of private school in the City of Tacurong,
Province of Sultan Kudarat.. It is the first ever Technical School in the whole Province of Sultan Kudarat, The school was located along the highway and it is started operated in a year 1985.
From the collage evaluating grading system as of teacher’s strategies they are manually operated to evaluate the grade of the student. Southern Mindanao Institute of Technology work flow as follows: (1) Manually evaluating grading system, (2) student need to ask about the enrollment system to the registrar in charge.
It will have a reason to consider why I choose the “Online Grading System” as my research study this are: First 100% web based which is works entirely online through our School website. This gives the flexibility for all staff members to work from school, home or anywhere internet access is available. Second it is user friendly that can inspired by the look and feel of a traditional grade system, the online grading system offers the advantages of instantly calculating final grades, and showing points, numbers, or percentage grades at the click of a button.
Base on my research Southern Mindanao Institute of Technology is using a manual computation of grades of each student, which is the traditional use when technology is not yet developed. Manual computation is very prompt to risk for any circumstances. It is time consuming in terms of recording grades, computation using of calculator. If some records are lost, they never retrieve it in case of unexpected calamity. Accuracy and security is not been so defined.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
College is one of the fastest growing

Based on the study of Andrienne Gail E. Ramos, etc… (2011) entitled Systematized Grading System of Canossa School High School Department. The school is having problems in transferring grades from one grade sheet to another. Re-checking and re-encoding grades takes some time. The proponents attempts to design and develop a grading system which it has the same process and flow as the old system. However the proposed system has eliminated manual writing and the school staff can prevent time and energy consumption by using a system that guarantees accurate grade recording. It will also eliminate tons of papers used in computerized grading sheet, grading sheet per quarter, and summary sheet. The grade will directly encode in the system. Visual Basic is used as a tool for programming the functionalities of forms, buttons, menus, and encoding of grades. They also used Microsoft Access 2007 for the recording of data and grades of the students and Adobe Photoshop CS4 for editing images and icons for the interface of the system.…

During enrollment, students fall into a long line to obtain their subjects from their respective evaluator. The evaluator evaluates the students on what subjects they can take in the semester by checking the students’ grade from previous academic year. If they passed the subjects they are allowed to take the prerequisite of the subjects if not they discuss options with the adviser. The proponents observed that the primary part of the evaluation which is grade checking is done manually. The evaluator manually input the grades in prospectus record which the proponents also observed a not so reliable file keeping. After the grades are recorded and confirmed the evaluator manually put a check to all the subjects a student is allowed to take. Then she advises the student what subjects to take. Then CS students specifically has to write down their respective subjects and schedule on ACAS form and hand it back to the evaluator in the CAS faculty office to be signed.
