SOP FOR SCHOLARSHIP
SOP FOR SCHOLARSHIP
Had I known the importance of higher education 3 years ago you would have received this letter 3 years ago.Perhaps the passage of 3 years and the experience contained in them will prove to be an advantage that will make me more fulfilling personally and more beneficial to my family, my friends and the community.

My name is …. and I am writing in application for a scholarship to assist me throughout my time studying in the access .
Being awarded the chance to study further in my field at the University of Denver is an incredible opportunity for me and one I intend to seize wholeheartedly without reservation. I have consistently proven throughout my previous studies and working experience than when presented with an opportunity I will strive as hard as I can to best represent myself and reward those who have granted me a chance to prove such. Relocating from Santiago, Chile for the duration of the program represents a huge challenge and while it is one I am fully committed to, it does present considerable financial strain. I will be doing my utmost to not let this effect my participation and concentration required to gain as much as I can from the program
At 11 , not worldly wise , playing with my friends and going to school meant the world to me. I was just an ordinary kid. When you’re a kid ,everything seems easy, the world is at your feet and you have the mindset that when you get older you can do anything. Now that I am older, nothing is simple, the world seems out of reach .I know life isn’t boundless but has many limits.

Born in a middle class family , I have always had the opportunity to witness life in its true form. I have been taught morales , to respect people and value relationships more than anything.I have been taught to fight until I win . I have learnt the true value of money.

My mother started working as a teacher when I was 8 years old and honestly I didn’t give much of a thought to it. And she never denied me the things

We all can't wait to grow up when we're young. The world is filled with all this possibility and wonder. I've been told ever since I was little that the world is my oyster; in other words, the world was completely opened to me and I could be anything I put my mind to. So I just couldn't wait to grow up. Being an adult seemed awesome and I wanted to skip over the kid stage and get to my life, start living and taking care of myself. I thought I knew it all and I was ready to prove it. I had this idea, this grand picture that I had painted in my mind of life and how it should turn out. I thought I knew it all, until the day that suddenly I didn't. They tell you to be careful what you wish for because you just might get it. Life decided it was…

Growing up in poverty not only made me the person I am today, it caused me to long for an enhanced version of myself for my future self and family. This is a goal I know I could achieve through continuing my education to Florida State University. The community at Florida State University will benefit from me because not only do I work my hardest, I have the dedication, and confidence, to succeed in anything I set my mind to. I was born in the suburbs of the Bronx and raised in the Brooklyn, New York. At a young age, I never understood the amount of hard work my parents had gone through to raise me and give me a great life I have today. They emigrated from South Korea to this country in hopes of the American dream. They had their definition of the American dream as working hard to become successful. They were strong believers in that hard work would result in great results and rewards. My parents took huge sacrifices in order to make it to this great nation. They had left their families, their jobs, and their culture to start a new life. My father went from being a chemical engineer to making a small living as a delivery man for a clothing company while my mother worked as nurse in a small clinic in downtown Brooklyn. We didn’t live in the best of neighborhoods, but it was sufficient enough to provide shelter and food. It took a lot of pain and long hours for my parents to provide for me and they have taught me the most crucial life lessons. They told me that the most important lesson is life is to always put other people before you. They explained how if you are always there to help others and be there for another person, they will return the favor to you. This helped shaped my identity as to be a caring person who is always willing to help out those in need. Throughout the rest of my life, I would encounter this life lessons…

Next year, I hope to be studying in a BFA Acting program at a great university, and on my way to becoming the confident, well-informed member of society I aspire to be. The desire to not give up until I get what I want in terms of a college has driven all my choices for the past year, including both my decision to take classes at a community college, and the strong drive to receive good grades in order to potentially be accepted into those theatre programs. As mentioned before, both my history and culture, and social location influenced the value I place on receiving a degree from a university. This value drives me to make daily contributions towards that goal, by putting my schoolwork first, and doing things I struggled with in the past, such as seeking and accepting help from…

It seem that as I grew older I still wanted to have fun. I like to think now that it was the beginning at an attempt to hold onto my childhood spirit, but it would seem that even children have to mature one day. And as I stared at the picture, jotting down notes on my feelings and ideas, I couldn't help but draw my mind to grade 9. Again, the memories were of good company and myself having fun. Only this time we were in high school, our ambitions soared. I felt like I just passed over a mountain. Elementary schools over, 10 years of the same school and same people gone! It was time to act like a high school student.…

Throughout the duration of my lifetime, I watched my mother work all day and spend late nights working on completing her education. She never stopped learning, in fact, she even studied for finals in the hospital after delivering my brother. Initially, my mother finished her G.E.D and her associate’s degree. She then pursued a bachelor's degree in Education and became a teacher. She continued with school and earned her master's degree in Educational Leadership and served as an assistant principal in the public…

As a child I grew up in a poor household. Through the years my father struggled to pay the bills and we were living from month to month. I remember one time he came home and he was ecstatic because he made $100 that week. He worked around the clock to make ends meet. He would do any kind of side job whether it was buffing floors at his church or fixing friends cars. At the age of 13 my dad starting hitting the books and studying for his Real Estate exam. He bought the books and studied by himself for about a month before he scheduled his test. Once he became a Realtor he worked around the clock to get his name in the market. As a family we went from lower class to middle class because my father made the decision to do better. His focus was unparalleled, and once he made the decision to become successful, there was no stopping him.…

After graduating high school I plan of attending Joliet Junior College and getting two associate’s degrees, one in heavy equipment operating and one in Ag Mechanics. I would like to do this because it would make me more “valuable” to potential employers, by valuable I me that I would be able to handle large machines well and I also would be able to fix them if something goes wrong. These two skills are not things that most people do not get both of because it takes a very large about of skill and most people just do not have the patience to do so. I already have a few of these skills thanks to my high school and Craig Swartz and that is the reason I would like to pursue this idea, because I believe I could be very successful because I already have a leg up on most people.…
