Some Things That Contributed To Sarah
Some things that contributed to Sarah’s attitude towards her curfew was peer pressure. I think that if it wasn’t for the peer pressure, Sarah would not have went out at all and would have stuck with her curfew. Peer pressure I think is the main cause of what teenagers do and what they do not do. A lot of teenagers are follow what is popular and sometimes they do not think of the that consequences can happen after they do something. I think that Sarah went with the peer pressure as they will all trying to get her to stay and talking to Jake, I believe did not help with making the right decision of not going home one time. I think that Jake was attracted to her because of the person she is and he liked that kind of person. They seemed to get along good and had something in common, which is a start of attraction. Another reason is that he could have been drinking, but I do not think that this is the case in this situation.
The fight was a social interaction of the night. Usually when you are interacting and at a party someone always thinks that they are the “big shot” and has to be tough and that’s when fights start. When certain people at a party always try and be the central of attention and it always ends up with a fight or drama. Sarah’s behavior was influenced by the throughout the night as she was enjoying her night of being out and that they kept begging her to stay. As, when she saw Jake and started talking to him is when her responsibility went out the window and she was influenced by pressure of her peers. Sure Sarah could have made better decision on how her night ended up but I think that when you are restricted all the time to certain times is when you act out. Also with her being a good kid and doing good in school gave her more of a reason why she thinks she should have stayed past her curfew, not thinking she would get in to trouble. As someone that is always a good kid never thinks of the consequences and thinks that it would be easy to get out of

He barely provided with enough clothes, food, and shelter to live his own everyday life. Jake is a self-reliant kid who finds himself stealing many things for his own good. In my opinion, for the situation Jake is in, and the reason for why he steals, I don’t see him as a bad kid for stealing. In my eyes, he is a bad…

The central idea for the essay “ Ongoingness” is that when we are recording things with writing or with photography, we aren’t experiencing the moments. As stated by Sarah Manguso in the essay,” The trouble was that I failed to record so much. I’d write about a few moments, but the surrounding time- there was so much of it! So much apparent nothing I ignored, that I treated as empty time between the memorable moments.” Manguso was explaining how she was only focused on the beginning and the end, she wasn’t focusing on the middle, which is the actual experience. Also,“ the diary becomes ‘ a series of choices about what to omit, what to forget.’ “ When we tell or write stories, we sometimes leave out important parts of the story that we don’t…

Luke’s theme is about new conversion and the rapid spread of Christianity, however, with the addition of the story of Mary and Martha it becomes confusing as to how this story fits in with the overall theme of the Gospel of Luke. However, Luke continues his theme with this story because he wants everyone to know the truth about Jesus. Jesus wanted Martha to stop doing the busywork and focus on the truth of Him and who He is. Before this passage, we have the story about the Good Samaritan who was there to help even when it was frowned upon socially. After this passage, we have where Jesus teaches about prayer. The passage about Mary and Martha go with the Good Samaritan story because Martha was doing what was expected by her culture and society, while Mary was going beyond it and sitting at the feet of Jesus.…

Everyone reacts differently to stories, books and facts about history. Everyone has their own opinion. The horrible events that happened in France during 1942 tend to make people today feel powerless, emotions of anger and rage. However, if someone thought the opposite of this, a persuasive book like Tatiana De Rosnay’s Sarah’s Key, would definitely change their mind. Analyzing this book in the literary lens, you can understand the author’s opinion, and how she develops it throughout the story. The way she explained the situations of the Vel’ d’Hiv from two points of view: a 10 year old girl experiencing this shocking event, and an American journalist in France, in 2002; gives you every detail of everything that was happening in France during those times, and the facts that we know today.…

Hernando Washington kidnaps Sarah Gould as she was leaving her work at the hospital, at this time Hernando had no intentions or hurting Sarah in any way. Hernando’s excuse for taking Sarah was solely because he wanted money and he believed she had some. Hernando seemed to give Sarah many unspoken chances to leave or escape, but she never took the chance. Many questions rose from this, and why Sarah never tried to escape Hernando. Quite possibly she never tried to escape Hernando because he kept telling her he was not going to hurt her and she had a hope that he was telling the truth. Sarah Gould may have had a belief that if she had done everything he asked, she would leave Hernando’s possession alive. There is no definite answer on why Sarah did not try to escape from Hernando, she was on her own and had to make a decision that no one could imagine themselves experiencing. After being with Hernando for some time, he saw no issues with raping her and keeping her in his trunk until he took care of business. He made her bounce back and forth between the car and trunk so no one would see her with him. I believe she did not try to escape Hernando because she was in fear, although he kept saying that he was not going to hurt her, she likely thought that if she tried to leave he would kill her. Sarah Gould had to be in fear of her life with Hernando,…
