Assignment #1- Part #1

Period #1 Needs:
I plan on breaking down Global Socio-Cultural Responsibility into three different parts. First I will focus on explaining the aspect of social responsibility. What it means and the three qualities that make up a student that is socially responsible. I do not need any aids for the first period. I plan on just standing in the front of the room and speaking to the students.

Period #2 Needs:
The second period I will explain the meaning of cultural responsibility and I also plan on incorporating an activity that will help the students better understand and also get them moving around so they do not get bored and fall asleep. The students will observe that people, even their friends, are both the same yet different in certain ways. Each student will be assigned a partner and they will sit with each other and have three minutes to find out and write down five ways each partners differs from the other and five characteristics they have in common. They will do this for two rounds. After the have made their lists, with the entire class, I will ask the students for some of the similarities they found and some of the differences and make a list of these. Than we will discuss the similarities and differences they gathered. Which differences were most common among people, which differences were most/least important, were the differences physical characteristics.

Period #3 Needs:
The last period I will explain the meaning of responsibility in a community. I will also have the students do a community building activity that will help them understand the concept and importance of social responsibility in there community. I will than explain the importance of being aware of global issues that take place and how as a class they can contribute to helping others even if they are not located close to them. The community building activity will start after I explain the importance of community and what it means. I will divide the students

    The way that I would determine if the sources are reliable and relevant is by verifying the author. I would select at least one document that has been peer reviewed. According to University of Phoenix University Library Interactive Tutorial (2012), “Peer reviewed documents have been reviewed by at least one expert before publication. It focuses on scholarly material and usually contains extensive discussion of: research methods used by the author; substantial statistical analysis; extensive list of works cited at the end of the article or text”.
