Socially Paw Myself
As an introvert, I sometimes socially withdraw myself more than others around me. This is not necessarily bad, but it is a weakness if I tend socialize or withdraw myself too much. The key for me is to find a balance. More often than not, I tend to be less sociable than others. To combat this, I must make a conscious effort to become more outgoing and involved while also allotting myself time to recharge and have time alone. In college, I will work to effectively use my time in order to find a

A good way to get through college is with friends. You can meet plenty of people while you are getting your degree. The best way to do that is getting involved. Your college experience is only as good as you make it. Join a club, talk to classmates, and be kind and respectful to everyone. The simplest way to put it is to be social. Don’t be afraid to talk to people. There’s no need to beat yourself up if someone doesn’t want to talk back you, it’s probably not in his or her nature to talk in general. Even though you may have a million other things going on, it's important to remind yourself why you're in college in the first place: to graduate. Your academic work should always come first when it comes to managing your time. Also a great way to manage time is plan ahead. Write down that you have homework due or put an alarm on your phone for your 9:30 class.…

I do not mind being around big crowds, but that doesn't mean I want to crash every party I am invited to. Having an active social life and extending my network of friends is relatively important to me, but it is not the most crucial thing. I have managed to strike an important balance between actively involving myself in my larger social network and spending quality time with a few intimate friends. Although I may not always be the conversation-starter or the "life of the party", I am generally a very outgoing individual, whether among friends or people I am less familiar with. I can easily relate to both extremes on the personality spectrum, and have an easier time delving in and out of the internal and external worlds.…

Growing up homeschooling, I wanted to break the typical homeschool stereotype kid. I had friends, I went to camps, and I joined many events. However, I had an introvert personality. And often times my friends neglected my existence because of my silence during their conversation; they went out with their classmates from school, leaving me unaccompanied and forgotten back in the corner. At camp, I ate my lunch alone, spent free time alone, and sat in the back alone. Not because I wanted to isolate myself from people, but the circle of people pushed me out the circle whenever I tried to join a crowd. I could not fit in.…

People with avoidant personality disorder display extreme shyness and introversion, which leads to a lifelong pattern of limited social relationships with a reluctance to engage in social interactions. Due to the sensitivity and fear of criticism or rejection most refrain from pursuing other people, but long for affection and tend to be lonely and bored. This failure to connect to others triggers acute anxiety, low self-esteem, and excessive self-consciousness. (345) “Feeling inept and socially inadequate are the two most prevalent and stable features of avoidant personality disorder.”(345) People with the disorder have a tendency to display shyness and evasion of most new situations or emotions and display the inability to experience pleasure freely. It is very interesting that I got very low score in the inclusion part because I am able to get along with others well usually. But I think I am an ambivalent person who is not only seeking any kind of group in order to feel participant but also avoid any new activity I am not familiar with. I want to hang out with a lot of friends, but I like to to do things alone while I am doing something” important” for me. For example, I usually do not go to gym and eat something with my friends, but I prefer to study alone because it’s too hard for me to focus on what I am reading while I am in a group study. It is very similar to the situation that I feel lonely while I am alone at home but feel exhausted while I am joining some activities. However, I still believe that the result for the inclusion part is right for me because I know I am a person who does not want to be disturbed in the most cases.…

Secondly, I’m an outgoing person. I don’t mean I am that person who goes to party even if I don’t know anyone and go schmooze around with people. I mean, I do things related to having fun with friends and family. I’m also a shy person and I’m pretty confused about what my personality really is – shy or outgoing or shy extrovert or outgoing introvert. I’m shy around people I don’t know but I’m loud and outgoing if I’m with friends even if we’re surrounded by strangers. So, that’s it.…

Let's look at Introvert vs Extrovert first. This is not the same thing as being shy versus self-confidence as many people incorrectly assume. It's about how you get your energy and how you like to focus your attention. For example, Don is an extrovert, he likes being around a lot of people and activities, that doesnt mean he doesnt need his alone time too sometimes. But Don recharges his energy by interacting with people and sharing ideas. On the other hand, Sophie who is an introvert, and although she is totally fine with going to a party or being with a large group of friends. That does not recharge her battery. What does is her being alone or with one other person, reading a book or listening to music. So on a Saturday night, Don is excited to go to a party, he loves seeing his friends and meeting new people, it energized him. Sophie, on the hand, in that particular situation, prefers to have a long conversation with…

While extroverts gather friends in every city and country they travel to, introverts tend to keep the same friends they have known the majority of their life time. Extroverts shop for friends like trinkets, while introverts collect them like treasure. My sister fits in this latter group. That’s why the conversation she had with a friend a few weeks ago put her in somewhat of a quagmire. It was contrary to everything that was part of her nature.…

Social isolation is characterized by a lack of contact with other people in normal daily living, such as, the workplace, with friends and in social activities. We isolate ourselves by walking around in our own little world, listening to our iPods or staring at the screen of the latest mobile device even when we are around other people. Studies have shown that people who are socially isolated will live shorter lives.…

You might think your quiet classmate who sits in the back of the class is antisocial because he or she prefers working alone and does not socialize a lot. It could be the case that he or she is just an introvert who likes solitude and gets his/her energy from being alone for a while, rather than mingling in crowds. Nowadays our society is full of loud and fast-paced movies, large parties and tasks from school or a job that require enthusiasm and charisma. As a result, at times it seems like extroverts are better suited for this society, seeing that they usually are charismatic and energetic. I intend to prove you wrong though, in my opinion introverts are unbelievably important in this society.…
