Professional Goals
My professional goals are integrated within my social work placement and developed through the guidelines set in place by the agency learning agreement. Because I am currently employed at this agency, my professional role has been changed to adhere to standards set in place by CASA.
Prior to my field placement, my work involved providing in-home services to families involved with Department of Human Services. The expectations of this position included conducting assessments, developing treatment plans and advocacy for the family systems. The job description also assigned duties entailing attending court hearings, making collateral contacts with service providers, home visits and completing discharge planning as needed.
The establishment of my new goals and objectives are consistent within the requirements of field placement agreement. However, these are focusing more on my weakness rather than my strengths. Establishing a research based curriculum for survivors of domestic violence will challenge me due to my struggle with research material. Designing a community resource book will allow me to gather more information about resources than I already utilized in working with my client systems.
