INTRODUCTION
1.1: Overall of Social Networking Service (SNS)
Social networking service is a type of invented communication that allows people to connect with each other. Social networking sites (SNSs) such as Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace which are the typical application of Web 2.0 technology, has been popular and widespread all over the world over the past few years. A cultural anthropologist at Kansas State University, Michael Wesch has compared the society with social networking. While Social Networking service is defined as a platform that focuses on social relation among people who share activities and interests.
Social networking service like email, instant messaging, video and photo sharing sites are all those which is tools that helps people to communicate and socialize with each other. In year 1997, the first social networking site, SixDregrees.com was launched. It allowed users to create profiles, list their friends and also surf the friends list. Starting from 1997 until now, there are over 1.8 billion users who are using social networking services. Joining social networking services gives opportunity to express views, a feel of independency and self-esteem. Connect with all people over the world just with a click.
According to the latest research, there are more than 80% students were using social networking service in their daily lives. The trustworthy of those sites may discourage users from using it; however the main purpose of those sites is to bridge friendship without worrying the problem. According to some academic researcher literature, most web-based learning system was made and hard to attract people to use it. Therefore, SNS may be help in this case. A WIRE model, a teaching and learning strategy aim to close the gap of classroom lesson between teachers and students. The results were positive and also revealed some issues for future research.
