Smoking Should Be Banned In The Workplace
I believe smoking should be banned inside and outside of workplaces, due to the Worksafe health and safety procedures and wellbeing for fellow employees, customers and the general public.

Work safe health and safety requirements require smokers to smoke at least 5 meters from any business or undercover areas including schools, kindergartens/daycare's etc. I believe this is important to promote to the outer community for safety of others who do not smoke, who could have breathing problems such as asthma and to not have it as an influence around teenagers and young children.

Banning smoking from the workplace means a cleaner and more approachable environment for all to enter. It also means that less breaks will be required during shifts for employees, because they won't be needed extra breaks for smokes in between their work. Banning smoking for employees in the workplace is also more hygienic because it doesn't leave a 'smokers' smell on the employees uniform therefore leaving a smell wherever they pass.

Let me briefly explain a bit farther my thoughts concerning this subject. Smoking is not inherently wrong, one has the right to smoke but when that right to smoke can adversely affect another especially their health then it should be controlled. Understandable, employees that work in a bar inherently take on reasonable risks in the performance of their duties, but should they be needlessly subjected to cancer causing agents like tobacco and second hand smoke? I say…

Smoking cigarettes can cause lung problems. Both first-hand and second-hand smokers are affected by cigarette smoke. Scientific findings and researches show that the chemicals in cigarettes, apart from the smoke, can lead to health problems such as lung cancer. Smoking cigarettes should be banned in public places. In public places, more people, both young and old, can be exposed to the smoke from cigarettes. My position differs from those who might say that smoking altogether should not be banned. My position is that smoking in public places should be banned. It does not include smoking in private places like homes. Smoking in public places should be banned because it poses health risks to individuals who are non-smokers and who do not want to inhale the fumes from cigarettes. The risks are double to those who already have lung ailments.…

In the early years smoking in the United States was a very common occurrence. Adults were smoking anywhere they pleased. It was normal to see a couple puffing on a cigarette in the local grocery store, on the bus to work, or even in their office cubical. Back then there were no studies shown that smoking cased health problems or death. The people did not see cigarettes as a harmful thing. It was not until the late 1960’s that the world started realizing smoking was indeed harmful. Unfortunately, at first the Public Health Services rejected the idea of further tobacco related actions, such as placing warning labels on cigarettes, or creating educational…

Second hand smoke in the workplace has been linked to an increased risk for heart disease and lung cancer among non-smokers. By placing restrictions on smoking at work, that protects non-smokers from second hand smoke and also helps encourage those who do smoke to quit. I believe that there should be a ban put in the workplace when it comes to smoking. I know that when I go to work I do not want to show up to the smell of smoke, and leave to go home smelling like smoke. If I was to walk into work where people were smoking I would feel as if I could not breathe or work because of the…

We have a right to clean air and to a safe environment, smoking should be banned in public places for many reasons, including the fact that it is a huge health risk for both smokers and non-smokers. We find smoking to be irritating for a number of reasons. The smell of smoke is awful, it clings to your clothing, and it affects the breath of the smoker harshly. Smoke in the air is also irritating to the eyes, causing them to water and itch. Personal hygiene is affected too: smoke stains your teeth and can cause sores inside the mouth. Smoking, simply put, just looks stupid. Smokers whether they like it or not, are criticized and judged daily by strangers just for having a cigarette in their mouth. Frankly, we believe smoking to be a complete waste of the time spent smoking and the money.…
