Smoking Should Be Banned In Public Places

In my opinion, smoking in public places should be prohibited. There are many reasons that support this point of view. Smoking is one of the leading killers in world. People shouldn't die because of it. For years people have been smoking in public thinking 'it's my body, I can do whatever I want to it,' but now that it has been proven that smoking not only harms the smoker, but also those around him or her, they should not be allowed to smoke around other people in public. At first I think that smoking in public places causes a considerable amount of harm to people those who are non-smokers. For example, my cousin died three years ago from second hand smoking. She worked in an office that was full of smokers. The smokers are still around; she is dead after being bedridden with a pitiful, metastasizing and deadly lung cancer. The second reason is that smoking is a cause of pollution. There is a lot of research that shows that many kinds of gases that is released by smoking and is harmful for the environment, such as tar and carbon dioxide. A research says that approximately 4000 chemicals are present in cigarettes, which are breathed out and released in the atmosphere. Out of the total North American population 30% of them are smokers and the percentage of the smoking population in developing countries is much higher. This indicates that an enormous quantity of pollution is being released in the atmosphere every day. Everyone knows that now the environment is getting worse and worse. The last argument against smoking in public places is the strongest: Smoking in public place is very destructive for the children. Children tend to copy what they observe and are the influenced by the normality of smoking around them. If anyone smoking in front of a child, the child may be think it that smoking is a good thing but it is not. For an example, some days ago I saw a little boy may be 7-9 years old and he was smoking. It has possible because of smoking in public place. So we should banded smoking in public place. Overall, it would be best if there was no cigarette in the world. In my opinion, smoking must be banned in open air. From the government side proper measures should be taken to make people aware regarding having cigarette as well as breathing burned air with full of nicotine. I also think that maybe this is the time for people to quit smoking. Banning smoking is not just for us, but for this world and for everyone who has to live in this world after us.

Smoking is the number one preventable cause of death in the United States. Smokers only make up approximately 26% of the U.S. population, but those 26% affect 100% of us. In this day and age, smoking becomes common things for people. They always smoke without concern about the surroundings. Some people think smoking can liberate their tension and can relax their mind. How about the nonsmoker? A number of diseases can be caught from second hand smoking, or passive smoking, including a number of cancers throughout the body like emphysema, asthma, bronchitis, lung cancer, heart disease, cardiovascular problems, and even SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome). The affects of smoking have been proven to be harmful to smokers and non-smokers alike. A ban on smoking in all public places would greatly decrease the health hazards related to smoking.…

Smoking cigarettes can cause lung problems. Both first-hand and second-hand smokers are affected by cigarette smoke. Scientific findings and researches show that the chemicals in cigarettes, apart from the smoke, can lead to health problems such as lung cancer. Smoking cigarettes should be banned in public places. In public places, more people, both young and old, can be exposed to the smoke from cigarettes. My position differs from those who might say that smoking altogether should not be banned. My position is that smoking in public places should be banned. It does not include smoking in private places like homes. Smoking in public places should be banned because it poses health risks to individuals who are non-smokers and who do not want to inhale the fumes from cigarettes. The risks are double to those who already have lung ailments.…

What about the non-smoker who always has to respectfully get up and move tables every times someone lights up, or the couple that covers their nose while walking down the street to avoid the smoke traveling in front of them, And let’s not forget the children who are easily sickened and is forced to play in the sand while someone’s father is having a quick smoke on the bench at the park. Smoking should definitely be banned on the non smoker behalf. It is worse for those that work in a bar, café or a restaurant. They have no way of escaping that dirty stale cigarette smell, and it’s not…

It has become common knowledge that smoking is bad for people’s health, nonetheless people continue to smoke. To be honest, that is fine. If people want to endanger themselves by smoking then I wish them a swift and peaceful end (though most smokers die a slow and agonizing death). What is not acceptable is the effect that smoke has on non-smokers who have almost no way of getting away from smoke unless they want to stay in their house. Smokers affect everyone around them for the worse. Smoking should be restricted or banned from all public places because the health of non-smokers should not be jeopardized by secondhand smoke.…

Smoking is one of the leading causes of preventable deaths in the United States, and doing it in public is even worse because smokers not only harm themselves, but also those around them. I remember how my great uncle would always smoke in his house regardless of his surroundings. When his daughter visited him for a vacation, she brought her three year old daughter with her. The baby was healthy before coming to her grandpa's house, but in less than two weeks, she had developed ear infections and started to cough. When they went to the doctors' office to find out how she had gotten it, the doctor linked it back to the second hand smoke that she was breathing in. When my great uncle found out about it, he finally started to care about where he was smoking and who he was with, and decided that he would smoke in a secluded place where no one but him may be affected. Like my great uncle in the past, many smokers think they could do whatever they want because it is their body, but to me, their right ends where my health begins. I believe that smoking in public places should be banned at a federal level because even the smallest wisp of smoke can do a lot of damage to the people around them and the environment.…

Smoking should be banned in all public places to protect people from second-hand smoke and stop promoting the visual to minors. The cigarette is a small but deadly habit enjoyed by 45.3 million Americans. Smoking is illegal inside most public restaurants and buildings as well as on school property. But, why should cigarette smoking be banned in all public spaces, including outside public establishments? The most obvious reason is second-hand smoke and the damage it causes to others who don 't want to be exposed to cigarette smoke. A ban on all public smoking would improve the air quality in each town, spare people from smoke exposure, decrease the overall amount of smoking, and make it less visible to children and teens as an accepted norm. The negative effects of second-hand smoke are scientifically documented and provide a valid reason for banning all public smoking.…
