Smoking in Colleges
In contemporary world, the human society is progressing rapidly on various fronts. Yet at the same time, many problems have arisen, one of which is whether students can smoke on campus. This issue has drawn widespread attention. Some people assert that smoking is individual right so that they can smoke on campus while many others argue that smoking on campus is not only related to their own health issue but also influence other non-smokers and environment. Smoking should not be permitted on college campuses because it harms our health, causes a financial issues and causes pollution. Although smoking cause relaxing for smokers , it has several effects on our health and body. As we all know, every year we can know that a large amount of people die from diseases caused by smoking cigarettes. Such as lung cancers, heart diseases, early aging and stroke. As mentioned above that smoking causes diseases including asthma attacks. Agencies and institutions demonstrated that asthma attacks is common among smokers and individuals Indeed that asthma is prevalent and common among them. Since the tobacco plant was discovered in 1600, the world complains of the negative effects of tobacco, such as addiction and asthma attacks, which destroys the lives of individuals, even though the people still taking this plant "tobacco". “The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (2004) and the American Lung Association (2004) believes that cigarette smoke triggers asthma attacks in some individuals”. (Johnston Polacek and Janet L. Atkins, Georgia, Spring 2008, page 37). According to an article in International Journal of Consumer Studies, studies shows that students smokers face Passive implications on their health until before age of majority. (Sharon A.
