Small Towns Research Paper
Small towns it is the heart of America, most country songs are written about them. There are small towns all over America, most of the time people make fun of our small towns, or people frown upon them. There are positives and negatives of small towns, sometimes there are good things and also bad things about these towns. There are many positive things about small towns, one of them are everywhere you go there will be a familiar whether it is to the post office, grocery store, everyone knows everyone in these little towns. Sometimes knowing everyone is bad thing, but sometimes a positive thing, and example of this is if someone goes missing then everyone will know what they look like and try to help out to find them. Another example of this …show more content…
For example Tina went to a party over the weekend the party was busted by cops. The cops then arrested Tina for drinking underage, by Sunday morning at church the whole entire town has heard. All the church ladies are then talking about Tina and saying what a bad kid she is, and that she is never going to amount to anything. Another example is that when someone gets pregnant at the age of seventeen all of her friends then start to talk and gossip about her. Small towns are great and all but there is too much gossip, and way too many two-faced people. Another negative thing about small towns is there is nothing to do in them. The cops are always around, so teenagers cannot hang out and do dangerous things, or things they want to do. The most fun people in small towns have are either going to parties which the cops bust, or going two towns away and sitting the Wal-Mart parking lot talking or trying to race each other down one of the straight stretches. Other than that there is not a cool hang out to go to like they have in Dazed and Confused. It gets pretty boring in small towns. Small towns there are not a lot to do in them, people gossip about one another. There is less traffic though and people will do anything for anyone. People in these small towns will give the shirt off their backs to help each other. Yes people make fun of them, but it is where one grows up and it will always be home to

There are several similarities and differences between small towns and big cities. For example, Tuskegee and Birmingham are totally different, but they are somewhat similar. I chose these two places because they are both in Alabama, but they are judged differently. The similarities are: state, bills, and jobs. The differences are: cost of bills, variety of jobs, activities for children, etc.…

The city that we have built ourselves on is very organized. The Houses provide jobs, while the fields outside the city help produce food for the masses. Our government contains a City Council, who is one body representing all men collectively. Each City Council works under a Senate Council, and the World Council regulates our entire infrastructure, governing all men to help protect us from human evil. In addition, you can attend to many exciting events within the city. City Halls hold social meetings, which are big gatherings of all the people within the city. You can get to know other people who have the same beliefs as you. Also, they help remind us of our important roles given to us by the Council of Vocations. Their wisdom decides where…

There was a theater with one thousands seats, a library, a Military Band composed entirely of men who worked for the company, and an extensive athletic program”("The Town of Pullman"). Pullman’s town was filled with many attributions that I would deem fit to want in a neighborhood. The town valued educational and cultural enrichment. Looking out from the Sugar Shack Café in Jacksboro Tennessee, there is so much more to this little town than meets the eye. For some people all they see is a mountain top and a Wal-Mart. For others they see an area that they call home. From my current location here at the Sugar Shack Café, I can see Highway 25W, a stop light, several businesses (Wal-Mart, McDonalds, Dollar Tree, Shoe-Show, and Goodwill to name a few), the beautiful view of the mountains, and road signs.…

Rye, Colorado is a model representation and example of small town seclusion and small town community. At surface level, Rye offers the basic characteristics and charm of an isolated farm-like neighborhood. Most of its buildings are quaint and offer a certain sense of antiquity to them. Unlike the city roads which seemingly cut through the landscape, their roads seem to intertwine and follow the shape of the land. The houses are small, one level and do not have much of a distance between them. There seems to be only one of each common institution or public place. One elementary school, one high school, one church, one café, all named after the town itself. The only thing that seems to be of excess were the amount of cows and horses, along with…

The quaint little towns Tennessee possesses are also as seemingly amazing as the mountains these towns and families have nestles in to. Gatlinburg is one of my favorite places to spend my day in. You can walk the entire town and some of the shops they have are so awesome. The people are extremely nice yet quirky and the opportunities to do new things are innumerable.
