Slut Phenomenon Research Paper
Feature Article
Slut Dungeon “Slut Dungeon” is the nick name of the club called Cellar. Cellar is one of the notorious biggest clubs in Morgantown, WV. This is a place for people who want to have fun. Although, we must be 18 to get in, it gives people the opportunity to relax. People always have an idea of club is a bad place that young people come to drink and destroy themselves, but I think it also has other meaning to young people like us. I have met with the promoter of Cellar to allow us to know more about Cellar. Cellar is right downtown and it is only ten minutes walking from the Mountainlair, so it is really easy for everyone wanting to get there. The place doesn’t look really big in the front, but has big dance floor in the basement. Cellar is on a one-way street full of speeding cars and drunken people, I think it is a great place to have a club there. Because people can easily get to it, a lot of students go there on Thursday. They have a huge bar for 21 year olds that are for the people who want to drink. Mostly the dance floor is for young people.
I walked there on Friday 2 Feb for my interview. It wasn’t anyone guarding in the front, I was expecting it to be more secure other places. I walked in and spoke to a person works there to see the promoter of the

Around 11pm, people started walking in. It was packed with people that I can barely walk anywhere. This is normal which the entire freshmen come here after school, so it is always full of people on Thursday night. The atmosphere was really fun, people started talking and dancing. I went to a corner to see around, there were girls and guys dressing in nice clothes ready to hit the dance floor. The bartender started to sell drinks, that when the guys started to buy girls drink. My friends were all there, so we started to have a little fun too. It was awesome; we were all turned up at around

Summary: The article, “Slut Shame: Attacking Women for Their Sex Lives,” by Rachel Kramer on alternet.com, is about how different people view the meaning of the word ‘slut.’ In the article it states that people perceive the word slut differently and it is the go-to insult for women still today. Some people argued if you did not want to have kids and just wanted the sex that you were a slut, others argued how women can call themselves sluts, yet not be slutty enough, giving themselves the wrong name. It then goes on to state that not only men are doing the ‘sluts-shaming’ that women such as Andrea Grimes, also called other women out on it. Andrea argued about if you were not married and having sex, you were a ‘baby-killer slut’ as opposed to a proper Christian who will only allow things sexually to…

I compare the transcending of parahilias from harmless to harmful with drug use. For drugs, marijuana can be a gateway drug as it opens up the social network of people that use it, which then eventually opens up the possibility of a new drug being passed around your new circle of friends and eventually to you. Along with the drug will come the behaviors to match. As people try new things, sometimes they aren’t satisfied for long and continue to chase the excitement of pushing the boundaries for themselves. As a fetish I can see how people are thrilled by these things. What happens when they become bored with their present thrills and look to find new things that make them as excited or more the ones before? They are adding people to their social network with like interests and most likely some of these people will be…

The research conducted clearly shows that women are being sexually objectified by the media in many ways. Societies views on sexual objectification has changed over the years and has become more of an issue in today’s society. Sexual objectification and self-objectification have proven to be a cause for mental illness in women and girls because of the unrealistic standards that advertising show. After analysing all of the research shown, my opinion is that women have been sexually objectified by the media and the impacts on women can be harmful; this problem needs to be corrected by the advertisers to ensure women and young girls can feel comfortable and confident in their own bodies. Despite the conducting extensive research, more primary…

According to my research it states that throughout the history women have been treated as second- class citizens. Women have had fewer rights and job opportunity. The status for women in the history has been for them to be house wives and take care of the children, while the men worked doing hard labor. Women had little opportunity to get an education. Women in the workforce in the 1850’s jobs includes domestic services, clothing textiles, teaching, making shoes, wools, and hat making. The women were making as little as $2.00 per week and the more job opportunities, and an education.…

For what reason would one want to commit a sex crime and what kind of characteristics do predators have in common? The majority of offenders are not insane nor have any psychiatric disorders. According to Groth :“the rapist is a person who has serious psychological difficulties which handicap him in his relationships to other people and which he discharges, when he is under stress, through sexual acting-out. While under stress the judgment is clouded, but such individuals do not have a problem with intellect. They are not retarded; they commit such crimes out of desperation and emotional disturbances (6).…

Steven Schlossman, a social and policy historian, had written, along with colleague Stephanie Wallach, an education and gender historian, a comprehensive look into the juvenile system and its relationship with women in the publication of “The Crime of Precocious Sexuality.” Scholassman and Wallach had noted that the turn of the 20th century had brought along not only the rapid industrialization of the country, but also a sharp change in the sexual customs and ideologies held by young women. This, they explain, alarmed the middle-class, white (natively born) people who claimed themselves as Progressives. In response to this upsurge in promiscuity, Progressives had created a number of paternalistic reforms that were aimed at curving, according…

The Science of Sex Appeal Documentary discusses the human’s attraction. There was a study discussed that exceedingly surprised me; people subconsciously respond to fundamental clues of physical and genetics health when choosing a partner. When babies are in the womb, their facial structure can be altered due to malnutrition, small genetic abnormality, and infections. Consequently, an experiment was designed to test the connection between symmetry and sex appeal. For this experiment, one man and woman is needed; pictures of both the man and woman’s face were taken. One of the pictures changed so that it is perfectly symmetric while the other picture had the facial design exaggerated. The two pictures were hung up on the university’s wall, and…

Sexual Objectification of Women means, to treat women like an object created for the eye as a sexual instrument; as well as, treating a woman without acknowledgement to her own person with a voice within. This has become a large issue within our population, and it has been ignored. The objectification of women is everywhere in our society. Females can be just as guilty about the sexual objectification of themselves as males are. One must understand the entirety of the sexual objectification of women to understand why this issue has become an issue and everyday norm in our society.…
