One theme that is great for any age boy is a cabin theme. This is perfect for little boys and older boys because most boys enjoy camping in the outdoors or even fishing or hiking. The best thing about this type of room theme is it can even bring back pleasant memories for each parent. Decorating the room is easy you simply have to find wallpaper borders that remind you of a cabin in the woods, which can be moose or even bears. You can use animal themed bedding or you can choose plaid patterns, which the plaid often reminds you of flannel pajamas that you wear in the winter while camping out. You can add natural accessories or you can buy stuff to help decorate the room, you can even use rustic furniture, such as wooden chests for toys and a log style bed.…

In school, you learn how to pass a standardized test but ultimately it doesn't teach you how to apply those skills in the future to figure out your passion in life. In camp S.E.E.D we focus on providing these experiences to our campers. Through visiting a hospital, participating in a health fair, experiencing Junior Achievement Biz Town, and creating their own businesses. These opportunities help campers visualize a future they may not have seen as possible before and for us, that makes all the difference. Thank you everyone that helped in this process and contributed to our campers market day. You have truly helped change their lives…

When us kids were younger, we would always go off and explore. As we got older, schedules became more and more hectic; sport and band practices couldn't be missed, too much homework, friends wanted to hang out. I no longer looked forward to those camping trips. I wouldn't be able to see my friends or even talk to them; there sometimes would be no cell phone reception! This of course was a huge deal. My parents obviously still wanted to go to see their friends so I had to go as well. Sometimes, there wasn't anyone else my age and it was just me and the adults.…

It is important to also note that Reid’s Farm is one of Taupo’s most popular reserves. This means that there will be other campers and backpackers present. Because the students are older and more mature, it will be easier for the teachers-in-charge to control the noise level and litter in the area. It will also be a good opportunity for the students to demonstrate to their teachers that they can camp responsibly and respect other campers.…
