Skills for a Job Position
Skills for Candidates for Job Positions Esteban Salinas Carachipampa Christian School

The Picture The picture chosen is a small visual model of the survey given in the book When Helping Hurts that has images on a pie chart that shows what people think the most important quality in applying for a job. As the image shows, having a positive attitude is the highest percentage which I don’t totally agree with. Personally I think positive attitude should be ranked lower and have a strong work ethic first. According to Naceweb (Smith, 2012), which made a survey, were the highest ranked quality is “Ability to work in a Team Structure.” I agree with Nacewebs results that working in a team should be in a high position, but not the highest either, instead I agree with Lisa L. (2010) statement that says “If a person lacks willingness you will always run into problems. If a person can demonstrate through a behavioral interview that they have demonstrated willingness in their previous jobs you know you have someone who is flexible and willing to accept change and try new things” Willingness should be first if I were to chose between Nacewebs survey or Lisa L.´s opinion based on her working experience. Colossians 3: 23-24 says “Whatever you do work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord. Whatever you do work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord not for men since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” This verse relates perfectly with the big picture and When Helpling Hurts statistics because one has to work passionate in what he does, but most importantly work for the Lord. Based on all the facts given in all the sources I´ve learned a few things and tips I can use for the future that will help me in positive ways when I look for a job.

Personal attitudes are difficult to learn, instead if you consider yourself to be lacking in some respect, you can try hard to overcome your natural inclinations. For many there is a spectrum ranging from ‘very much so’ to ‘hardly at all’. Employers might prefer to have someone who is keen to see a job through, with the determination to overcome difficulties on the way.…

The first thing that I would do, would be to welcome Susan into a quiet comfortable atmosphere. The next thing that I would do, would be to introduce myself to her and let her know that I am here to help her. In my first meeting with Susan, I would first address the issues that she is having with her son. I would then ask her what it is that she wants as far as helping her son with his issues. I would then talk to Susan about the situation that has happened with her husband leaving, and then to see if she has dealt with the feelings that came up when this happened. I would also discuss with her about feelings that could come up. And would talk to her about depression that could accompany with this type of situation. My next step that would follow that is to make sure that she gets the help that she, herself may need. I would let her know that everything is going to be okay, and that I would do my best on trying to assist her in achieving her goals. I would also let her know that if it is something that I am not able to assist her with, I will get her the help that she will need. I would then go over the confidentiality clause and ask her if there was anything that she did not understand, then I would let her know that if there is any other assistance that she would need outside of mine that I would always need her permission in order to refer her to anyone else and have her sign off on it. After I have done this I would then show her my empathy and let Susan know that I do understand what she is going through, and that I will start to ask some necessary questions. I would then start asking some necessary questions like has she received any help for her situation that pertained to her son. I would also ask her if she had received any help on depression for the both of them, due to her husband leaving. I would ask her that if she had received any services what…

I will look for routes that do not involve the motorway or busy roads as I am likely to get stuck in traffic. When I have figured out my route I will look at how long it took me to get there so I know how early to leave on the day. However, on the day I will leave earlier anyway to ensure I arrive early which gives a good impression.…
