Size And Population Disbursement Analysis
The size and population disbursement of Australia presents challenges unlike any other country in the world. Australia is roughly the size of the United States. Most Australians live near the coast, primarily in one of six cities leaving the large interior sparsely populated. This creates challenges to provide emergency medical care to the small remote villages indigenous people mining communities, cattle ranching, fishing villages, and offshore drilling platforms. The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) has developed a response mode to care for the people in these remote areas. The RFDS has a fleet of 67 aircraft at 22 bases nationwide (Jones & Langford, 2015).
