Situation analysis refers a systematic collection and evaluation of past and present economical, social, political and technological data and aimed to identification of internal and external force that may affect the organization’s performance and choice of strategies, and assessment of the organization’s current and future strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. A Marketing Plan is created to guide businesses on how to communicate the benefits of their products to the needs of potential customer.

As environmental consciousness increases, the company is trying to project an image of environmental friendliness. Unfortunately since the model of McDonald's is to make maximum use of comparative advantage, therefore McDonalds entire supply management is difficult to reduce its carbon footprint in the short term run. Unlike the other big retail operations in the USA like Wal-Mart, McDonalds owns the most of its suppliers and producers and has been faced with many scandals as a result of that. There have been many occasions on which producers and suppliers have accused the company of discrimination and high-handed. Even though McDonalds tries its best to project a very friendly image but there is still have some allegations of employee exploitation case which have caused many problems to McDonalds.
