SingTel Now Offers New Services To All New and Re-contracting Mobile Subscribers

Singapore, 15 November 2012, - The SingTel Group officially announced that it would be making some changes of the provisions. Starting from 01 December 2012, SingTel will be slashing its bundles of data for all its new and re-contracting of mobile subscribers. Currently the offer of 12GB for all data plans (except for Premium Flexi Plan which offers 30GB) will be reduced to 2GB. Any additional data will be charged at S $ 5.35 per additional GB, but the terms for Flexi Premium Plan remain unchanged.

To make up for the reduced amount in the GB for new potential SingTel customers, it SingTel has offered more generous SMS bundles and higher data speed. So that it would be fair for others.

Mr Yuen Kuan Moon, SingTel’s CEO Consumer Singapore, also mentioned that based on current usage patterns, 90 per cent of subscribers should not incur higher charges, as their data consumption does not exceed the new bundles.

“At the same time, heavy users will benefit from the significantly reduced excess usage rates. Data traffic on our mobile networks has been growing at 62 percent each year since 2010 due to the tremendous growth of smartphones, tablets and mobile content. By encouraging fair usage of the network, we will be able to deliver consistently high-quality services for our customers,” he said.
