Similarities Between Popol Vuh And Genesis
Popol Vuh and The Book of Genesis both are creation stories, they all talk about the origin. These two books look similar but they have contrasting points on how many god created the world, what is man made of, and redemption. The book Popol Vuh mentions many gods, believing and living under various Gods. But in the Genesis, it describes God as perfect and dominant. According to the Popol Vuh, man was made of clay, wood, and maize. In Genesis, it explains that God breathed life into Adam and this was made from dust. According to the "Popul Vuh" Mayans had many gods but no one sacrifice for their creation, but in the Bible if there is a redemption that meant a lot to the Christian.
