Similarities Between Animal Farm And Russian Revolution

During the Russian revolution of 1917 under the power of Tsar Nicholas II the Russian empire had come to an end. With this occurring Lenin and his bolsheviks allowed Marxian socialism to rise. The drastic changes going on in Russia affected not only the civilians but many countries around the world. In the novel Animal Farm, the animals rebel against their master Jones just like what happened in Russia. The animals were tired of being told what to do and not being cared for in return they wanted to run themselves and not take orders from a man. They took the first step by revolting against the provisional government. Later with being in power, the people realized that they got their favor over lies. The people wanted to make a stop to this. The pigs put themselves in control after the death of Old Major because they believed they were meant to be in power, and claimed only they were the ones coming up with solutions for the problems on the farm. Later in the novel, the animals realized that the pigs were also lying, but also that they were not helping the others animals but helping themselves. The animals disliked how the pigs ran the farm and wanted it to end.
The Russian Revolution has many similarities with Animal Farm. The people in both lay too in order to be on the side of the side of the group running for power. When the people in power started to slack big problems started to come upon them. The people being ruled started to notice this happening and began to question and revolt. Tsar was taken out of power for how poorly he governed the country. While Napoleon is being more disliked for acting more like a human than the animal he is.
