Showing courage isn’t always the easiest thing to do, it requires sacrifices to do the right thing. Throughout the book, Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry Mildred D Taylor uses Stacey as an example of a boy who shows courage, despite everything that is going on during this period of time. For example, Stacey took the cheat notes from his best friend, T.J. and got blamed for it. Stacey had also showed courage when he helped T.J. get back home after the Simms brothers had beat him up. One last example would be when he told Cassie to go and get Papa while he was trying to protect T.J. from the night men. Stacey is a very heroic, bold, fearless, and courageous. I hope that this influences other young readers to be more like him also.…

What is courage? According to dictionary.com, courage is the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain etc., without fear; bravery. In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, both Atticus and Boo Radley are both courageous through the challenges they are faced with. Acts of courage are extremely prevalent in the novel, To Kill A Mockingbird. Courage is prevalent in all phases of the characters lives, and they have to act upon that in all phases. Throughout the entire course of the novel you will see courage in almost all the characters, but I see the most courage out of three characters. These three characters all have different motivations, they acted out their courage in three different ways, they all reacted to their adversity differently. The characters who exemplify this are Jem Finch, Mrs. Dubose, and Atticus Finch.…
