Should We Use Medical Marijuana?

For centuries there has been a natural pain reliever found all around the world. This natural plant has been around for thousands of years, and until recently has been deemed illegal. This natural plant is Cannabis, also known as Marijuana. Medical marijuana refers to the use of cannabis and it’s cannabinoids to decrease or improve symptoms. Marijuana has been the topic of discussion for many, many years, but recently the developments and law changes have started to increase. In this essay I will explain the pros versus the cons, how the drug can be used, and a medical issue that could be resolved with using medical marijuana. Unlike most medications, medical marijuana does not come in a pill form. The most common way people ingest marijuana is by smoking it. However, a lot of doctors are against smoking because it may contain tars and toxins. The other options include using a medical marijuana vaporizer. The vaporizer is used to gently heat the cannabis up at a lower temperature to release vapors that project the same benefits as smoking just without the possible toxins. You also may choose to eat edibles. Most edibles taste very good and come in many forms such as cookies, brownies, lollipops, etc. These edibles are made from cooking the marijuana into a butter or oil then following the regular food recipe using the original recipe.
Why use medical marijuana? Who needs it? Medical marijuana is commonly known for helping cancer patients. The effects from ingesting marijuana help to eliminate some of the pain associated with chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Doctors may also prescribe medical marijuana for multiple sclerosis, poor appetite and weight loss due to chronic illness such as HIV, seizure disorders, or Crone’s disease.
