Should We Spend Time in the Sun
We all love to go sunbathing and get that lovely tan. Though, spending time in the sun is important, it should be done in a limited way and not overdone as this can cause health concerns. Before we look into the risks of exposure to sun rays, lets take a look at the benefits obtained by spending time under the sun.

One of the most important health benefits of sun rays is the production of Vitamin D. This vitamin is necessary for the body to remain strong. Sun rays are also necessary for the production of Melatonin, which helps to bring about sleep in the night. Another significant benefit of sun rays is that it makes bones stronger as sunlight gives the body Calcium necessary for enhancing bone structure. It can also get rid of bacteria and germs. It also makes the body system immune from diseases. Just some 15 minutes in the morning sunlight can give such health benefits.

Spending time in the sun can also help prevent leukemia and also skin cancer. Vitamin D is essential to fight off intestinal neoplasm. It can also make you more susceptible to heart attacks. It is thus vital for every person to spend just a couple of minute’s time under sunlight as they can avoid such major health problems. Moreover, it is also believed that sunlight can fight off depression and also bring down anxiety.

However, it is vital to remember that spending time under the sun should be done in a controlled manner. One of the biggest threats of overexposure to the sun is skin cancer. When a lot of the suns ultra violet rays fall on the body, it can result in skin damage and also hasten skin aging. When skin is overexposed to sunlight, there is an increase in Keratin production, which can actually result in skin problems acne and blackheads. It is also possible to get herpes and red head. Another problem caused by overexposure to sun rays is sunburn.
