Should We Raise Minimum Wage
Literature Review:Raise of Minimum Wage Minimum wage is a topic that is always being discussed and debated over. One reason that this subject is so popular is because everyone who has a job is affected by the result of the wage. Some believe that the minimum should be raise to at least $9, while others strongly believe that the raise in wages will disturb the state of the economy. In the articles I have selected the pros and cons of raising the minimum wage are clearly stated. Some of the texts are editorial articles, and scholarly articles that have to do with the raise in the wage and others options on the subject.

Erica Smiley talks a lot about how the minimum wage now is making it so that worker of big corporations have to depend on the government. Works are forced get food stamps, and welfare, because they can not make enough money to support themselves or their families. Fraser, also talks about the dependence of the workers in big corporation’s, specifically Mcdonald’s. Although he talks a little bit about the worker his main focus is on corporation itself and the bad positions that they would be put in if the minimum wage was raised. Stuart Apelbaum, another supporter of the raise of the minimum wage states that workers are not getting payed enough for the amount that they are working and that workers would work hard and feel more appreciated if the wage was raise. Lastly is Rex Huppke, who is against the raise of minimum wage. His reasoning behind this is that if the minimum wage was raised than the result would be job loss, and harder for inexperienced people to find
