Should We Always Tell the Truth
Should we always tell the truth?

Have you already told a lie to somebody? Everybody has already lied to someone. After that, most of the time people might have felt guilty. But sometimes people don’t tell the truth to avoid hurting others because they act like that for the good of the others. However, always telling the truth is necessary for us in everyday life in order to feel good about ourselves, to be trusted by everybody and to be able to support our own opinions.

Telling the truth is the most important thing to do. It is better to tell the truth and admit mistakes. Everybody should tell the truth all the time to feel more comfortable. Sometimes people have to use the polite way to express their opinion. For the fact that, it will be easier and it will also be great because they are admitting their mistakes. People can appreciate this type of behavior and that gives value to them. For example, when someone lies to their wife or husband because he or she had a relationship with someone else; it’s better to tell the truth because they will feel guilty all their life even if they think that they can lose their husband or wife.

People who tell the truth become more truthful. Our own image must be appreciated by everybody. We have to keep a good image of ourselves. In other words, we should be honest in all situations because we trust people when they have a reputation for telling the truth. An honest person will become a trustable person. It is the most important feeling that many can receive. For example, if someone lies and we know that what that person said was a lie; then we are not going to trust this person again. His image of himself will not be good.

When we tell the truth, it is easier to support our own idea or opinions because we don’t have to invent a story. People who lie invent a huge story. But if someone asks some details, we will probably be lost and forget some details to make sense of our lie. We can think that not telling the truth is.

In the article “Brad Blanton: Honestly Tell the Truth” he says that telling the truth can keep a relationship based on reality while also saying that lying keeps people locked their own mind. He states that. “‘ Many people think think they tell the truth, but they don’t because they withhold information. Have the courage to be honest and have a relationship with others based on reality’” (5). If people did not lie then they know that their relationships with friends are based off of facts and not manipulated information. However most relationships are not perfect and some relations might even end if everyone did not withdraw information to one another. The article also says that, “‘But it’s just as likely that you’ll end up losing people whom you don’t want around you anyway’” (15). But if people be honest to each other, they might lose people that they actually want in their lives. Being honest is good but if one is honest they are very likely to offend people and lose friendships in the end. In conclusion, Blanton says that telling the truth can help a relationship with a friend as well as saying that lying keeps people locked in their own minds however relationships can never be perfect and if people were honest they might lose their…

The dictionary defines a lie as, “a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive; an intentional untruth; a falsehood.” However, while the intent of a lie is to deceive, that deceit is not always intended to cause detriment to others. Lies can be told for justifiable reasons such as to protect the feelings of others, but more often lies are told for the wrong reasons. For example, lies are mostly told to avoid the consequences of one’s actions such as with criminal activities and academic misconduct. When comparing acceptable and unacceptable reasons to lie, the unacceptable reasons greatly outnumber the acceptable.…

Often, people say that honesty is the best policy and is defined as the act of telling the truth to the best of one’s knowledge. Coupled with the definition of honesty is the belief that telling the truth all the time is good because of certain reasons. Primary motive is that many consider saying the truth as an aid in improving one’s self. For instance, one project organizer asks one of the staff if the theme chosen for the occasion is well suited. Then, one of the personnel has the guts to tell the truth that a better theme is fitted for the event. The project organizer will then have a better idea, thereupon aiding to the betterment of the organized project. Likewise, saying the truth helps us to earn others’ trusts. According to Nathalie Himmelrich, in her article entitled Truth versus Honesty: Is there a Difference , even though the explanation of the word ‘trust’ does not distinctively take into account the word honesty, it is implied in the word. Similarly, stating what reality…

At a young age our parents taught us to always tell the truth and never to lie. Although, telling the truth is the morally correct thing to do, I believe there are scenarios when lying is acceptable. One should not make a habit of lying, but know when the right time and the right place is to lie. Lying for the greater good to spare someone’s feelings, to keep a child’s innocence, or to even save a life are just a few examples when I think lying can be tolerated.…

Telling the truth can bring great benefit while lying brings harm and corruption to human society. Our brains are not designed to lie, so if someone always lies, they might live in anxiety, depression and feel guilty about themselves. In contrast, people who always tell the truth live a healthy life as they have fewer things to worry, and sleep better and they feel good about themselves. On the other hand, people lie to protect others feeling from not being hurt. These lies are the “white lies’. It is important, to tell the truth, because by being truthful a person will stop lying to them themselves and being honest with others will create a good relationship with others. To sum up, we are trying to lie because for our reasons such as cover…

    Lying Is Good or Not

One of the reasons why people lie constantly is to protect others’ felling won’t get hurt. According to the article, Stephanie Erisson says “ The white lie assumes that the truth will cause more damage than a simple, harmless untruth.” it means we can lie to others in order to avoiding to tell the harmful truth. Parents never say that their children look ugly in some dresses even though they are really not cute. Friends never tell us that we are being in a bad situation. Instead, we will tell them that everything is going to be all right. We tell a harmless lie to our family members and friends because we tell the truth might be hurt their felling. When I was 16 years old, my parents had to go to work everyday. They do not have time to cook, so my grandma cooked for us. Sometimes it tasted weired and awful, but when my grandma ask us how was the meal, my parents always said that it was delicious. At that time, I did not realized why my parents would say the opposite words to my grandma, but now I get it. My parents told the untruth to my grandma because they do not want to hurt my grandmother’s felling. They want to protect her. Therefore, people tell lies to family or friends, it does not mean they are not honest. As Stephanie states, she is like most people who tell themself is an honest person while telling…

Lying only leads to more lying. If you lie once and someone calls you out on that lie then you have to create a bigger lie. You have to adapt to that lie and understand that the lie is the truth from then on. In some cases, it is better to speak the truth in a gentle way. Such as , if a woman were to ask you if she looks fat in a dress than find her a different dress and tell them that the new dress suits her better. However, In some cases its better to speak the truth in a cold hearted way. For example, if a grotesque girl likes you at school , you can tell her she is weird and that you don’t like her or want to be friends with her.…
