Should The Gorilla Have Been Harmed

Recently there has been a huge social argument about a gorilla and a child. From social media sites a lot of people have been posting their thoughts a bout the whole thing, some I agree with and some I do not. From my understanding a child some how ended up in a gorilla exhibit and to save the child someone had shot and killed the gorilla. In all honesty I believe the gorilla should not have been harmed in any way if the child was safe. Yes the gorilla should have been kept away from the child in case an accident were to occur.
