PULLING THE PLUG ON ‘RACIST’ FELICIA THE GOAT COMMERCIAL

Westchester County, New York (Friday May 3, 2013)- On Wednesday, April 24th, 2013 Mountain Dew released its third “Dew it- Felicia the Goat” online ad commercial featuring Tyler the Creator. The series of ads contained delicate material that may have been offensive to various focus groups as well as the Mountain Dew community. The commercials feature Felicia, the talking goat and its alterations with the law, unintentionally stereotyping young African Americans and promoting violence against women. PepsiCo (parent company of Mountain Dew) spokeswoman, says “We apologize for this video and take full responsibility. We have removed it from all Mountain Dew channels and Tyler is removing
