Should Students Be Forced To Do After School?
How much time do you usually have to yourself when you get home from work or school? For many students, it isn't a very long amount of time and this is only with homework and projects. Some schools are forcing students to take a extracurricular activity. A lot of students wouldn't be able to handle having more to do piled on to them after school. They may have to help their families when they get home or may even have a job they have to go to. Being forced to have more to do after school will only be stressful and counter productive on a student. I believe students shouldn't be forced to participate in extracurricular activities because they may not have time for it, it can be too much on some students, and it takes away from their time to themselves.

Some students leave school only to have to go to a job for so many hours. Whether they have to do this to help support their family or its by their own choice, they won't have time for that and an after school activity. Nobody would be able to hold a job and be forced to do more for their school than they already have to. They might even try to do both at the same time and just end up wearing themselves out everyday and losing sleep because they don't want to fall behind in either. If you

Many students already struggle with just their school work and classes. Adding something else onto them will only cause them to perform worse in their regular work. It also gives them less time to study and do other mandatory activities for school like projects. If they join the after school activities themselves and they feel its too much they can just drop them. However, if they are being forced to participate, they most likely don't have the option to drop it. It's better for a student to be able to decide what their limits are in what they can do everyday than forcing them to exceed these

Not all classes are the same length in time, and because of that not all students have enough time to complete their academic work and job. According to Eggers he states that, “Unlike high school students, they’re less programmed, less boxed-in by family and after-school obligations.” (181). Based on the evidence, one would assume that all college students do not spend time with their family or stay after school for extracurricular courses. Certain students tend to stay after school for tutoring or to receive feedback on essays, or projects also some stay with peers to study for a test. Furthermore some people can do a couple of hours everyday or even a few, but some students, such as myself, need to rest or take breaks, for all the work does become very stressful and tiring. Having mandatory public service can hurt certain people, yet it can also help others achieve experience how certain jobs…

In the past and even now, people have been discussing if the State of Florida should raise the age for students in school. Students should stay in school until 18 for two reasons. One reason is because they will get a higher education. Another reason is because they will get a better job and income. On the opposing side, some people argue that students should not stay in school until they're 18 because classroom issues arise from these students. However, there are many more significant reasons for students should stay in school until 18.…

What an amazing school system! A child born on or before August 31st at 11:59pm is more socially and emotionally ready for school. Whereas, a child born merely a minute later, still needs more time to develop. Well, that’s what North Carolina State Board of Education (NCSBE) believes. North Carolina State Board of Education should allow kids to start school when they are ready because delaying them can result in them losing interest in learning, make them the older ones in class or heighten the chances of them dropping out.…

To clarify, there would be no interruptions with a person's free time of non scholastic activities. An illustration would be having to work overtime and not get to spend your own time. Many students are involved in extracurricular activities such as sports, clubs, and participate in other organizations. Extra hours of school in the morning would take up hours in the afternoon making the capability to attend these events difficult. There would also be no need to make up any extra days, which takes up more time. Interactions with after school activities may affect one’s image, stress level, and…

As previously stated, there simply is not enough time in the day for everything a family must get done, and when you add homework to the mix of things, it just gets worse. Extracurricular activities are very important for children because it keeps them involved and active. Exercise is crucial for children because they need to release all of their energy, stay healthy and fit, and also relieve any stress that child could be feeling. If homework starts to take up to much time, students have to give up those activities because school and grades come first. It is important to have a healthy balance of everything and not be loaded down with work once you complete an eight-hour day of…

To begin with, the school days are often very stressful for students for many reasons. Students feel as though schools try to contain them, resulting in them feeling as if they are not granted freedom to be themselves. The article High School Pressure: Why Students Need Shorter Days states, “They are forced to sit in a chair for a certain amount of time and to quietly complete assignments. The thought of this recurring activity results in students caring less about school, which…

Should children have homework in a primary school? It’s not a question for me. Of course they should. My strong opinion is based on my life experience and my observations. I observed children in school for years and may say that there is apparent difference between children who are doing their homework and children who have nothing to do after school.…

Homework-one of my worst nightmares. Honestly, I don’t think I’m the only student who thinks so. Memories of my iPSLE training and the amount of homework we used to get everyday still haunts me so I disagree with the fact that students should be assigned compulsory work attachment during school holidays.…

I believe that, after year 6, school should NOT be compulsory. By the time you have completed your primary education, you have learned the basic skills needed to get through life. High school is simply an extension of the basic skills learned in the primary school system, and is unneeded unless you pursue your education to a very high degree.

It is not the government's decision whether or not you should have to attend high school. It should be the individual's choice, and forced on no-one, because by the time you have completed your primary education, you are old enough to make this decision.

In high school there are more trouble makers who only disrupt the classes because they do not want to be there. These people disrupt the class and make it more difficult for those who are interested in the subject and want to learn. If school were optional, these students would not be in classes disrupting the class and ruining the chances of other students. Instead, they could be out in the workforce making money and beginning their careers earlier, giving them more experience in the workforce and making it easier for them to rise up to a postition of responsibility. If school were optional, it would benefit both the students that want to learn and those that do not, and would rather be in the workforce

The sort of education that is offered in the high school system is not needed by all people. There seems to be an agreement that children need to develop many life skills other than intellectual ones. Where are life skills? Apparently, students cannot acquire those skills from textbooks while some extra-curricular activities can. Students can engage in all kinds of socially productive activities they like after school where they can communicate with their peers, share their experience and make new friends, which plays an essential role in expanding their vision and enriching their social experience and fulfilling their potential. Still, I truly believe spending time on sports and music is a sensitive option. Could sports and music not only relieve young students’ overload academic pressure, but they would develop them physically and mentally as well. More importantly, allowing students sufficient free time can gives them more chances to seek assistance and acquire suggestions from parents, which avoids causing the generation gap at the same time. Overall, I tend to agree that students can profit from their free time.…

Discipline and balancing is important in a student's life. Sometimes, the person who has the freedom to do anything she wants will have the tendency to lose self-discipline and balance between extracurricular activities and academics. There was a time in my life when I thought I would not be able to finish high school because I got distracted by the social life around me. We could only be young once, as the cliché goes. Indeed, I truly lived my teenage life to the fullest, to the point of over-living it. In fact, I was still in my early teens when I started going steady with my social life than school. My mother had a hard time straightening my head. However, the consequences of my actions had sadly taught me a lesson. I failed some of my classes when I was in freshman. Also, I joined volleyball and cheerleading in my junior year which completely gave me a hard time catching up with our lessons. I was forced to attend the after-school tutoring. Stumbling upon of having no discipline and balance between school, sports and social life are regrettably sad. Yes, I have a lot of learning, and acknowledge that school must be prioritized.…
